the main reason i think i’ve stuck w fixed axle so long is the meditative component. not be weird/esoteric/preachy, but it’s restorative and grounding in a way that isn’t accessible through mainstream 1a for me. (prob why even my unresponsive playing takes on a fixed flavor). i don’t know if it’s the rhythm or the silence or the fact that if i’m not present the trick fails pretty much immediately… just kinda grateful it all works.
