Fixed Axle Friday Throws

That’s pretty wide.

Oh it is for sure, but I only start to have issues when I clearly need a string change.

I used to have a Sixth Sense. It responded well as far as i can remember.

Happy Fixed Axle Friday, and Happy Valentine’s Day! A little over two years ago I made my first yoyo purchases at a local toy store that carries some Yomega models. They also carry the mass produced personalized wooden yoyos that many independent toy stores carry. It was cheap, so I picked one of them up. Here it is.

I played with it for maybe five minutes, but it was no where near as good as the Raider I bought, so I put it away and never played it again. I did eventually pick up some nice wooden yoyos, but I never spent more than a couple of minutes with them. I wanted to learn how to land stalls, but when it didn’t come on the first few tries, I put it aside. I didn’t start throwing until 2 weeks before my 47th birthday, so I felt like I didn’t want to lose any time from playing 1A, which is my first love. This all changed when I recently acquired the Knack. I made the goal of learning how to stall during this Fixed Axle February, and I decided the Knack would be the throw to learn it on. On the first night, playing with the Knack, I was able to stall maybe 50% of the time. By the next day I could do Makin Da Zines. Thanks to the Knack my fixed axle journey is finally under way. After a couple of days, I pulled my other wooden yoyos out and tried them all again, including the one pictured above. It’s much harder to use than the Knack, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I could do any of the very small number of tricks I know on it. The last time I was in that toy store, I bought another one just to support them. Here it is still in the package.

To celebrate, I’d like to send this yoyo to one of you. Maybe you’ve been keeping an eye on this topic, but you don’t have a wooden yoyo. Maybe you collect wooden yoyos, and you like the novelty of this one. If you’d like this yoyo for free, please send me a PM and I’ll send it to the first person who contacts me. This is for residents of CONUS only. I apologize to those of you who live outside CONUS, but I refuse to pay more for shipping than I did for the yoyo.

Update - The yoyo is taken!

Ooooooof. I have that Irving’s brother! Need a purpleheart everything! Hopefully Knack can be next. Then to convince YYF that a purpleheart Legend Wing is a good idea…

Thanks! The wife commissioned it from @kevinm for Valentine’s day. Was super thoughtful and it’s sooooo handy to not have to take the string off the throw to add the CW.

There is no purpleheart KNack on the horizon.

Colourful Spectraply KNacks are next!

Mate, they are going to be the bees knees!

If the first spectraply run is successful, I’m going to order a custom panel of rainbow spectrum colours laminate and straight bright pink! :cherry_blossom:

PINK! YES PLEASE! @chaosgow might throw fixed for half a minute, lol. Should be a collab. SW on one side, OP on the other. This is what restless dreams are made of.
