Happy Friday! It’s been a hot minute since I threw a Butterfly; I’ve been sticking to the Survivalist for 5A May due to its durability.

I think that for me, I like responsive 5A, but I don’t love fixie 5A. I have enough going on when throwing 5A that I don’t need the limitation or low spin time complicating things. So I guess you could say I’m excited for the end of 5A May, especially on fixed axle Friday and so I can get back to more 2A most of the time. My collection of wood fixies is eagerly awaiting their return to the throwtation.

I also felt this way about fixie 5A, but I shifted thinking about quick tricks and stalls, like I usually do with fixies. A quick pinwheel into a stall, a quick GT you can flip around, etc.

A BC era Black with Silver Stripe painted 3 and 1 No Jive, loved and played for many years, I discovered “Modern Yo-Yo” while looking for replacement cotton strings for this one as I use to play them unit they broke and the yoyo few across the room.
