What other hobbies/activities do you guys do?

Indoor can build some great bouldering strength and is good to work on specific techniques. You might have fun climbing some ice in that area during winter?

Yes it’s a hobby even if I’m doing it at Uni.

I have a killer cigar collection. :cuba:
I take coffee very seriously also.
I also brew beer semi regularly.

  • will trade :cuba: cigars for Saturday market Onedrop’s or G2 SS Banshee!

Oh I also bake rustic bread.

Right now I have dough settling in the refrigerator so that I can make pizzas from scratch for a friend tomorrow! I’ll be using the wood fired oven that came with the house, but I’ve never cooked with wood or used this oven, so hopefully it comes out well.

Funny you should mention Laika, I know a bunch of people that are working there or have worked there in the past. I’m a stop motion animator myself, most recently worked on season 10 of Robot Chicken! I’ve started throwing during downtime on my stage in between shots, and it rules!

Just solved a cube purely from memory!
Nothing impressive. Took me a long time and I used probably the easiest methods out there. Sure wouldn’t impress any cubers, but being able to solve it like this will be fun to show non-cubers who don’t know any better! lol
Think I’ll try a couple solves a day to keep from forgetting how it’s done.
…And now I can check the Rubik’s Cube off my bucketlist!
$3.50 well invested!

I collect spores, molds, and fungus. No, really. I’m working on starting up my own business in the next month or two, but what I really like are computers.

That is super cool! Do you grow the spores?

I was really into a certain type of mushroom at one time.

The come up is really intense though. And you’ve gotta commit like half your day to it.

How did I know you of all people would find this? lmao. Seriously though, Egon was always my favorite because we share an unusual hobby lol.

Absolutely. Mostly the useful or interesting one though, keeping the more mundane or dangerous ones safely tucked away in storage.

You should look into Paul Stamets.

I was into moss for a little while. Back in my bonsai days. I’d collect interesting moss from rocks and trees and then cultivate it by feeding it stale beer.

I used to love solving. I stopped years ago but can still get a 30 sec solve. Nothing crazy fast by any means. Muscle memory is a crazy thing.

One of the things that say my grandfather apart at the time is his refusal to play Martins like all the others at the time. He played a Gibson. Said the sound was much more warm and beautiful. As a studio musician you had to be good, you had to play in so many styles because you have to sit in for someone and you had to copy them, exactly.

And yes he was very picky, but that is why he was who he was. My grandfather played a lot with Wade Hill and his band for a while
