I see there are a number of fellow board gamers on here! I mostly play with my girlfriend. Some of our favorites are Innovation, Valley of the Kings, Nemo’s War, Spirit Island, Legendary Aliens, Eldritch Horror and Chronicles of Crime.
I’ve been into bodybuilding for a long time (another common yoyoer hobby). My girlfriend and I won our Natural Pro cards a couple years ago.
Our other main hobby is pickleball. It’s a great mix of strategy, skill, power, speed and coordination (individual and with your partner). Most of all, it’s extremely fun and addictive!
My most recent hobby has been modding old Nintendo Game Boys. Backlights, new shells, prosound, just a couple fun things like that.
I’ve been into Homebrew on handheld systems for a while, too. Primarily PSP and PS Vita, I’ve always found that world pretty interesting.
Of course, with the previous two, videogames have also been a big hobby of mine. I love the retro games most of all, I have a big stack of OG Game Boy, and NES games taking up way too much shelf space in my room.
My main hobby/job these days has been music though. I’ve been playing trombone for about 13 years, and guitar almost as long. Trombone is the moneymaker, and guitar is my side passion. I almost enjoy tinkering with my electric guitars more than I enjoy playing them haha.
i enjoy wet shaving and have probably 50-75 different shaving soaps and about 10 shaving brushes. 3-5 straights, 8-10 DE razors, 2 or three SE razors. Yeah. i like to shave.
My main hobbies are yoyo, guitar and drawing weeb stuff. Recently I sold a couple of yoyos and was able to afford my first digital drawing tablet! It has reignited my passion for drawing again, after an embarrasingly long hiatus that i’m not proud about.
Here’s my first illustration piece on it. It’s Hiyori Iki from Noragami. I’m incredibly proud of it.
Nice! I tried some boating (open and yak) when it was so hot we didn’t want to climb. Very fun and a great workout. Nolan still had his place on the nanny but it’s nothing like the green river for climbing and boating.
Did I mention it here? John Long and ‘The workout from hell’? Good workout routine to try for climbers and boaters.
Your grandfather played with Bill Monroe?? He was picky, your grandfather must have been a virtuoso. Most musicians who toured or played with Bill Monroe are fairly famous within the BG circle.
You had to have specific qualities he wanted to hear.
the Green is SOOO beautiful! this is slightly late in the season for it, but MAN, so worth the time. we lived in NE Utah for a good while and that place is amaze balls for all sorts of outdoors things. hikin/camping/kiting/ etc…
I have a few hobbys. I like to play guitar, played off and on for most of my life. I skateboard, but truthfully keep getting hurt, so not very often now. I can play the violin, not very well. Photography has always been a part of my life, professionally for years as well. Don’t do it as much but still enjoy it.
Don’t play sports much anymore. However I used to race triathlons competitively, played hockey, soccer, and Irish Hurling and Gaelic Footbal.
I randomly picked up a Rubik’s Cube on amazon because they were on sale for less than $3.50.
With the help of some youtube vids…I solved my first cube in my life yesterday. lol I’m not super proud of the fact as I pretty much cheated my way through it (the people who can do this stuff through their own self created methods amaze me!)…but it’s still kinda neat!
I can now do the first 2 layers of the cube without watching vids…it’s the last layer that’s complicated and will take me a while to memorize the moves.
I don’t know that I’ll ever be a sub 5 minute solver…I’ll be happy enough if I can solve a full cube just from memorizing moves from tutorials though!
Generally whenever I get into something I go really hard.
So it’s mostly just yo-yos now, but I do play video games, board/card games, listen to very select hip hop artists (like I think J Cole and Kendrick are mediocre at best) and write a little of my own, and I try and keep up with the NHL.
I also read a lot too but I think that’s weird to call
a hobby. It’s like calling driving a car a hobby.
Other than throwing… I love everything creative. Painting and sculpting with clay is my jam. I want to work for a company like laika someday and make films.
I’ve gone shooting a few times and honestly I enjoy it. I’m not a huge fan of firearms but the wifey and I were thinking of buying a couple of bows and crossbows and finding a range. Maybe get a .22 rifle for funsies at some point.
