What are some other hobbies of yoyoers. I have recently picked up rc airplanes and before that I did rc cars and skateboarding.
Riding bikes!
Headphones
Pursuing the best sound possible in a portable package at your specific budget.
It pairs nicely with yoyoing, they go hand in hand.
There are forums, reviews, BST, etc…
Rock climbing!
Another vote for rock climbing! Almost got my first outdoor v5 2 weeks ago.
I think it’s a bit of a list, lets see:
-watchmaking/ maintaining mechanical watches
-drumming/ percussion
-guitar
-synths/ circuit bending Casios
-electronics repair
-r/c rock crawlers
-vintage British motorcycles
-TJ Wranglers
-3rd gen 4Runners
-just off-roading in general
-hikes at local parks
-I would say cars but that’s just a job anymore, I’m over race cars.
-car audio, tho…
-video games
-mini figure painting/ 40k sorta. Def fell off this pretty quick, but I enjoyed painting the models.
I’m probably forgetting stuff I used to be into, but I have a lot of hobbies and interests. Basically if I can take it apart, modify it, or play with it I’m into it.
- Maintaining my homelab/server/local network
- Sitting
- Learning how to fix things around the house
hmm other than playing yoyo i enjoy, in no particular order
tinkering with my yoyos
taking pictures of my yoyos
reading about yoyos
thinking about what yoyo to get next…
i may be becoming one sided
I play/collect anything and everything pokemon related as well as lots of other retro video games. Aside from that I play with various skills toys but i’m not very skilled at any except yoyos
I have collected petrified wood for many years. I have also done a bit of digging in my younger years too.
I played soccer in high school, college and various clubs in Chicago and Seattle. Then I was a referee for HS until I had my hip replaced a few years ago. I miss playing terribly.
I also juggle a bit. I started doing it in college and continue to this day. So much fun. Still working on Mike’s mess smoothly.
Cars (Subarus and Miatas)
Sneakers
DJing / EDM
Also got my first pew pew. Already looking at picking up some more
You in a place that allows badada-dadadas?
Yeah I’m in Texas
i’m really into fixed gear bikes, cover a lot of songs poorly on acoustic guitar, and enjoy indie deckbuilder games like balatro and slay the spire. recently got into beyblades again too lol
bouldering is absolutely my main hobby, though. i recently made a tiny climbing edit that also features my friend throwing a bit! i got him into it while we were on the 2-week trip and he ordered 3 new yo-yos back to back
I do all the following which I roughly consider hobbies:
- 3D print, though this one is related to the yo-yos
- Play music. Mostly uke now, sometime guitar
- Swim - coached workouts and my team is flirting with swimming in an actual meet!
- Ultimate frisbee - I play weekly when schedule allows
- Fitness - I know those last two things sound like fitness, but participating in those is the goal and fitness is the means. I do indoor cycling, running, strength training, and yoga.
- Video gaming - it’s not much any more, but I still do
- Board gaming - this one I do more with my family now so it’s not a lot of the games I would independently be more into, but it works. We’re currently playing a lot of Otrio.
- LEGO - I don’t do as much as I’d like but I don’t have a ton of time. My kids have gotten less into LEGO so I have less time for it.
I’m sure there’s more but that’s what I’ve got right now.
Sick
Reading and sudoku
I generally pick up more hobbies when I’m not working as much, I enjoy yoyoing because I can always take a minute to throw. Over time I’ve gotten into quite a few things.
Things that come and go:
Playing guitar, drums when I had a set.
Coding.
Gaming console hacking.
Gaming. Board/video.
Electronics and electric motors. Salvaging and recycling curbside finds.
Simple woodworking (boxes) when I was doing custom carpentry for a living.
Painting and sketching.
Drafting by hand and CAD/CAM.
Macro programming in G-code when I was CNC programming.
Skateboarding when I make time.
Cooking for special occasions, I’d rather pay someone to cook than use my time for that.
Current things:
Roller skating with my lady friend on weekends. I like to throw during this.
Building hot wheel tracks and Legos with my kiddo.
Restoration projects. Usually things made of metal/mechanical.
