That is beautifully clever.
Soo, with all that said, could any of that happened with, I dont know, a YOYOJAM?
I believe you just got unlucky with your MASS PRODUCED yoyos, because my Whip played like a dream and took abuse great, I actually would play 5a with it and throw it up into trees just for kicks. Iâd also throw my Hayabusa (Not flying Panda, but made by Duncan) into the street via offstring just for fun as well, and it never broke. And it was going 30ft+ in the air, so I honestly dont know why you are so mad at those companies for supposedly making âUntrustworthyâ yoyos. They are good companies and they make great yoyo designs. Kudos to them for being so successful.
I won that Whip in the 11/11 contest yyf had back in 2011 (NO WAY) and I really regret giving it away to a friend. Does that count?
Me too. I agree that time will tell which yoyoâs rock, and which are less rock-y!
Regret buying a yoyo? Never!
Regret not buying a yoyo, on occassion. :-\
Iâve never made a purchase I regretted. But I have done some bad trades.
My first trade ever. This guy had a 28s Wooly Marmot. I was a newbie and I thought those things were crazy rare and worth $$$$. I traded a much more rare Goose Bay Gnarwhal + a Battosai for that thing. Come to find out that 28s Marmot were done TWICE. So it was the least rare of any 28s yoyo. Also Marmots arenât that good and both the yoyos I traded blew it out of the water.
Oh well. You win some you lose some.
Actually, I really like the Marmot.
I always manage to find something positive in my purchases, maybe just to justify the original purchase even if it did disappoint.
But the one I do regret was the purchase of this new model from a new company. It was a hybrid Deleon/ carbon fiber and zinc. This thing took like 6 weeks to arrive and besides having to assemble it which included putting9 balls in the bearing. Geez, really?? So Iâm all jazzed to throw it and first throw it starts vibing insane and jumping around on the string when all of a sudden, yup you guessed it, Flames start shooting out of the catch zone and burning pieces fly everywhere. Sure enuf. Right near the curtain and after putting out the fire and trying to at least save the string. All was lost. The company has since disappeared. A very bad purchase. Live and learn.
When I started I bought a yomega raider and a hyper warp heavy wing. Both are horrible considering thatâs almost $40 worth of product that can be outperformed by a whip or classic. Ugh I hate raiders too.
Iâve gotten a few yoyos I wasnât too fond of. I was able to trade or sell them away though, hopefully to people who liked them much more than I.
I got an AYYA Pyro, I forget the #. Iâm sure itâs a great yoyo, and in the right hands, itâs probably awesome. I just didnât know it was responsive. Not the yoyoâs fault, just mine for not doing research. The thing itself was pretty dang good looking though.
@iYoyo58: If you beat something to death, it obviously wonât work well. I know someone who keeps buying cars. Theyâre actually great cars, like he got an old iroc-z, which I donât believe is known to be particularly unreliable. But he runs these cars into the ground. He doesnât do oil changes, keeps going back to a worthless mechanic that doesnât fix any problems (once he said that the chip in his key wasnât working. The key was just a chunk of metal that couldnât have even had a chip), and then when the car falls apart, he blames it on the car and thinks itâs a piece of junk.
You canât blame a yoyo for getting damaged when you drop it. You canât call a company bad because your string broke and caused the yoyo to roll away. And Iâm sorry, but I donât believe at all that a tight polycarbonate seat (which btw, tight bear seats = a seat too big for the inner race, doesnât affect the outter race at all) CRACKED the outter race of your metal bearing.
And you must have knocked it against something with a ridiculous amount of force to get it to shatter and explode with enough force to cut deep enough to scar you.
@jonQ: raiders canât be outperformed by whips or classic. Theyâre for completely different play styles. Iâve never used a heavy wing, so canât comment on that.
YYJ makes some great throws, Trigger, PHENOMizm, HEX,Destiny,Theory and I am sure there are many more. YYF doesnât make throws that outdo YYJ, I like both companies, but I like and recommend YYJ more. Every company has there great throws and some that are just MEH, I do think that YYJ should discontinue some of there more outdated models and focus more on new stuff. Both companies have produced alot of good 1a yoyoâs and it ultimately comes down to preference. Donât just assume that YYF outdoes YYJ in every way except 4a. How many newer YYJâs have you played. If I see a yoyo that catches my eye from any company I will try to pick it up. Roll Model, Severe, New Velocity and many more. I donât care so much about the company I just trust YYJ more. You are being exactly like Iyoyo58 by blindly defending YYF. You are no better, it easy to say the company you like is the best. But almost every major company makes great throws. Both Yoyofactory and YYJ are great. I love both of them for different reasons. They both make some killer throws. So stop the arguing. They both make the same thing that serve the same purpose but they sometimes approach it in different ways. Stop flaming and just throw
Rant over
Also Yoyofactory prices when they are not onsale or part of some deal or around the same as YYJ save for a few YYJ models that are OP Eneme, I am looking squarely at you.
2012 supernova
buying the supernova on black friday thinking the freq wave will be there by christmas
- Itâs the only throw I wish I didnât buy.
Wet Whistle. Just not a very nice yoyo. I love the Dropbear though. Shows you that just because you dislike something from one company, doesnât mean the company is bad.
YYF StarBright. I just canât find anything to like about it

Really? I thought the Wet Whistle was one of the most fun yoyos ever. I regret trading mine away
The werrd hour! >:(
I probably could have used the money I spent on a brand new yogi glacier express a while back to get more SPYY yoyos for my collection. Itâs not that it was a bad yoyo, I just didnât like it.
XD
Yomega power brain xp wing⌠as my first yoyo. it was horible!!!
