What is your biggest yoyo pet peeve?

When the person you are debating changes their arguments to irrelevant attacks of character, the discussion is over, and they have conceded.

I do not have any pets nor do I have any peeves to give, I have lost them all.
All I know are people and things that have their own characteristics. Some I enjoy, others I do not. I tend to steer clear of the few things I dislike or tend to make me uncomfortable with out a significant benefit for enduring such discomfort.

Usually if I dislike something it is because I have not educated myself in a way to understand the thing that bothers me. Most times

Everyone have a great weekend

Missing binds! I’ve only been regularly practicing for about 4 months. I’ve graduated from my binds having tails to my binds being slippy. I’m sick of ruining combos with missed binds!!!

You have it easy, my binds always tie knots!

Horrifying! Do you switch string when you get knots or pry them out?

Also, don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I started out here with a Snoopy avatar. But I changed it because I think you should be the only Snoopy here.

I just take the knots out, next time I get one I’ll snap a picture.

Yes, I did notice that–if you prefer that avatar just go ahead and use it, I don’t mind at all; only reason I chose Snoopy was because it was the first thing I thought of.

You know, I’m a big Snoopy girl, but I actually like my little Shy Guy!

As a girl who has had guys try to impress her with guitar… it usually comes across pretty poorly. Yoyoing is superior.

I had the same problem for the longest time and then after watching a “5 binds you should know” or something that I was doing my binds backwards. After that, no more tails. If you’re doing a side style bind, you’re basically aiming for a reverse trapeze. Front style bind is just a regular trapeze, but… done away from you instead of perpendicular.

Pet peeve: Getting a topic recommended in the “new” tab. Clicking on it. Reading a few posts. Responding to a few post. Looking at the sidebar for the first time in 10min and realizing, that I just interacted with posts from May 2022. :see_no_evil:

Not the threads suggested at the bottom, I certainly haven’t necroed a 5 year old thread from jumping thru 3 suggested back to back :eyes:

That too. Damn. :joy: And every time I say myself to watch out and ta-da, the next topic, same crap. But I will learn. Through brut-force, if nothing else works.

I do that :sob: I’m just bad at it I guess

It’s the state of yoyo tutorials rn and how people have a boomer mindset that really annoys me rn. Imo the majority of them don’t even count as tutorials, it’s so frustrating to click on a trick that looks cool to just see that they explain NOTHING and just do the trick at basically full speed and no slo mo.

What annoys me even more is how people then say “skill issue” and to just go frame by frame. It’s so lame like why are we not wanting to raise the bar of tuts in the year 2025!? I literally film and edit my tutorials on just my PHONE and they come out better then the “tutorials” I be seeing.

Another pet peeve is tuts with no pov camera, like bro I bought a $15 head mount for it for my $100 phone like there’s so excuuuuuuuse. It just suuuuucks. I click off immediately from a tut with no pov

Watching a tutorial over and over and then again in slower speed and blanking out as soon as I try the trick…like I never watched the video even once!

Do not worry Amy this happen to everyone, imagine film very hard combos and than just miss the final bind lol on Instagram is full of people that missed it after a crazy good combo but at the end just bind back and it’s still ok, in the meanwhile keep practicing!

This does actually make me feel better! Thanks bud

Literally bro, or when they don’t have a pov so I get confused if what I’m looking at is really the trick or if I got a small detail missing which ruins the entire trick

Just to add to what has been said already but missing binds is super common and pros miss binds on stage all the time like real ones know it’s not a big deal or anything. But yeah it is super unsatisfying lol
