I’ve got both A Rally and a Yeti. To compare them is fine but they are two completely different throws. Both are amazing and are results of a lot of hard work by both One Drop and Caribou Lodge!! The Rally is the best plastic with a metal weight ring ive ever played. The Yeti is a unique feeling plastic like nothing ive seen before and plays awesome. Both great choices, not one or the other. Get both!!Hopefully they will bring new people into the hobby as well. How cool would it be to see a Rally or a Yeti on a regular store shelf next to all those Duncan’s and Yomegas.
^ This, would it not be awesome to walk in and see Rally’s and Yeit’s on a TRU shelfs? Don’t buy that Xodus II, kid… Get this _____ instead. I’d imagine they bot would have to come with responsive and non responsive bearings. It’s a dream, but it would be cool! I’d love to have One Drop and CLYW be household names like Duncan.
But seriously, no one should be getting all worked up over who’s throw is better… Blah, blah… BLAH.
Pick the one you want and if you want both or all three, then do so. Support these guys out there pushing the envelope, taking chances to offer mid level priced throws that are high quality performance monsters.
I’m fine with debate, and I agree with the actual information in his post, but this:
“This is the first post I’ve seen in a long time that was so full of complete misinformation it hurt to read. Please, if you don’t know, just stay quiet instead of giving false info.”
“I’m sorry you’re so incredibly misinformed and unaware. Please never post on this forum again unless you actually know what you’re talking about instead of giving people nonsense. Yeah, my post was harsh, but yours was downright ignorant”
Was downright rude. One can’t expect everyone to know everything, telling someone to stop posting because they had misinformation is just rude. If someone has received misinformation, how are they to know it’s not the truth? Telling someone the facts is fine, but insulting them in the process is a different matter.
I agree, the post was slightly harsh. SR even said that. However, he clearly knows very little about companies other than YYJ because the peak was extremely popular and is to this day. He’s extremely protective of YYJ and starts trying to make other companies look bad… So yeah, it was harsh, but kind of true. You should know your battles before you fight them.
Both are good, but im starting to get tired of this mega hype over yoyos. Ive only been yoyoing for a year 3 months, and im starting to get tired of everyone raving over such few companies. This overhype of specific companies and products are what kill the sales of other compaies, such as anti-yo, difeyo, and most unfortunately SPYY. People end up spending money on these yoyos, and other companies die, and then people started getting sad that spyy died. Remember, companies need revenue to survive, and i really do wish these smaller, lesser known companies get some more attention.
I know its just how it is, but i feel these companies make great yoyos, but are wayyyyy hyped and some of the yoyos might just be overrated.
Just saying, Anti Yo is one of the most hyped companies in yoyoing history. How do you think the OG Bapezilla became such a legend, even with the mediocre play and terrible vibe (Mediocre may be a tad harsh)?
Anti Yo’s slow movement of the Bapezilla.2 is because they made too many, in my opinion. It doesn’t really appeal to collectors, who I feel are comprise a significant amount of the Anti Yo customer base, but you may be sort of right, because I feel a bunch of people think “Why would I pay $140 for a basic organic throw, when I could by a CLYW for a bit more?”
Personally, I’ll be buying a Bapezilla.2 within the next week or so, not only because the play, but because Steve Brown says it’s amazing.
I would hazard to say that the biggest problem with Anti-Yo was that they had such a long break between releases. People forgot about them and then they release the YWET using to a lukewarm reception causing the hype to never rebound.
I think the coolest thing about the Rally and Yeti is the fact that the owners of each company are hyping the OTHER company’s product. That is some serious love between two excellent companies in my opinion.
