Just wondering, am I the only one who really loves that two of the top companies don’t try to jab at each other? Both OD and CLYW have both called each other’s rivaling plastic throws amazing, multiple times, even though they could try and pull an ‘our product is better’. It’s so refreshing compared to a lot of companies these days. (I’m looking at you, Microsoft commercials)
They’re not really rivals, more like partners.
Pretty much all the yoyo companies are like that, they focus on their own goals and dreams and don’t speak badly of the competition. I haven’t seen a yoyo promotion where they say their yoyo is better than the rest or the best in the world, different kinds of marketing for different markets.
Fanboys, on the other hand, are a different matter. But no, I’ve never seen a CLYW fanboy speak negatively of OD.
i agree it seems that the yoyo community is all in this thing together for the fun and love for tricks, lifelong friends, and fun (oh wait i said that twice…).
ive yet to meet a yoyo related business owner that wasnt awesome nor seen a company represented that wasnt honest, honorable, or willing to work with other businesses in the community, and this simply isnt the case with other industries i am big into photography and archery and neither share these qualities and frankly the yoyo community has been a breath of fresh air and given me a bit of needed happiness!
i am a proud support of CLYW and one drop and have change my mind to actually buying a Yeti or two. thanks for being awesome team players CLYW! its great to see a business that knows there is enough of the pie for you all and you get to eat more working together and not working against the others out there!
Isn’t Apple the one who used to make those types of commercials? With the boring nerd as the microsoft computer, and the hipster as the mac?
Haven’t seen commercials in some time, maybe I’m out of the loop. But yeah, those commercials used to irritate me, since audio/video editing and all the other “mac” things are just as good or better on PC!
I like both the pal tree and the Cosby sweater. It would be a little weird to wear the palm tree in the winter, but I live in florida, so it’s a little more acceptable.
Chris, any idea how Charles turned the outer rims white on the Yeti in his recent Cabin Tutorials? Is it a sticker or paint? If it’s a secret that’s okay as well, it just looks really neat while spinning.
Apologies if this question has already been answered, I just couldn’t find the official answer.
Got my Yeti in the mail today. (Being the old guy who’s been around forever does have its perks.)
Really fantastic bit of work on these. They play great, feel wonderful, and also feel absolutely unique…I’ve never thrown a plastic yoyo that felt like this one. The material is pretty amazing, and it’s really crazy to get a 68 gram plastic yoyo without any kind of weight rings.
Congrats to CLYW…the Yeti is a huge leap forward for you guys.
Are the new 5 panels the same standard 5 panel dimensions? They look a bit funky shaped in the photos. They just look a bit taller than the previous selection.
