Not a yoyo, but I turned of of those desk walking thingies as a class prize for my third graders.
What do they do?
Looking forward to turning some yoyos out of this piece of European beech.
This wood is commonly used for children’s toys. The wooden train sets sold at Ikea are made out of this.
It’s not the world’s most interesting wood, but it’s a very consistent wood with medium texture and straight grain. It should turn an extremely smooth yoyo.
OOO you could paint em with the same look that kid’s wooden toys have! Or I could buy another and do that haha
@gcoomans I would be glad to make you one if you like. It would be great to paint.
Working on a prototype for a new yoyo. This one is smaller, wider and curvier than the Harbinger. It also has a lower inner wall. Plays super well and is a bit better for backhand stalls. This one is made from European beech. It comes in at 50g.
My next try will be a little curvier.
A comparison picture of the new prototype and the Harbinger.
The prototype is the one on the left.
The Harbinger feels more aggressive in play compared to the prototype. It feels softer and friendlier but still has the performance.
I like them Currrrrrrrrrrrrvy yoyo’s
Fancy!!
Out of what wood is that purple-ish yoyo made?
Purpleheart.
Sorry about the bad picture
Love it! Do you know the wood it is made from?
sadly I do not
