My magistrate(old version with 8 ball bearing) is yesterday arrived :)!! When i first saw the specs, I thought it will be heavy. But on the first throw the weight feels right. Its not to heavy and not to light. I like it more than my dv888. I never liked undersize yoyos before, but now i love them, because i can play horizontal with the magistrate. Magic yoyos are really worth the price. The only thing i hate is the response. I have put some flowable silicone in it and now it plays perfect :D!! On the first throw i was shocked, because there was a vibe. So i cleaned the bearing and now it has zero vibe. I highly recommend the n6 for people who like undersize, mid weight, solid and love to play horizontal tricks :D!!!
The store I bought it from is sending a replacement tomorrow. The bearing seat in one of the halves was badly machined so the bearing was sitting awkardly. also, the bearing had the inner ring too thick so it felt like the thing was welded in there. broke a YYF multi tool trying to get it out, even after lubing around it in an effort i didn’t even know you could do that.
Dang dude hahaha. Sorry to hear about your bearing.
Good thing you’re getting another one. It happens on mass produced stuff, sometimes defective ones get through.
Heck, go read the warnings for buying a YYR on some Japanese stores… they say as soon as you unscrew the yoyo, you pretty much void your warrenty and you can’t return it after. Those are $180+ yoyos!! They might as well put a sticker/seal across the box that says “Warrenty Voided If Seal is Broken”
So yeah, good thing you can atleast get a replacement. Sucks though.
I’m bout to order 8 T5’s a N11 and a N12 in about 3 weeks. Shall be interesting to test them all.
it’s nice to have multiples when you practice so when one gets a super bad knot you can just pick another one up like nothing happened and keep your groove
I’d say drop 2 of the t5’s, get 1 t5 for yourself and 2… maybe even 3, if you want to spend the extra cash, N12’s. Probably just my preference but I get much more play time out of my n12 than my t5. the t5 is just there when I feel like messing about with an undersized
I wouldn’t really call 54.5 mm “undersized”, tbh. I’m planning on buying another n12 soon, though, i liked it a lot. Hopefully the replacement t5 will be a fun throw as well
Hehe, I’m in love with the T5 so I’m going to order atleast 2 more for myself, one blue and one red. N12 will be on it’s way soon, along with the N11. Trust me, I really want an N12 but it’s a bit more costly (atleast 2x the price) so I won’t be loading up on it.
I love most yoyo’s I play as long as they don’t wobble or feel uncomfortable in my hand. So as long as it’s as good as the T5 I’m sure I’ll enjoy the N12. I just like that the T5 so cheap that I could literally go outside and do a full-force ‘Around The World’ into the cement driveway and I wouldn’t be at much of a loss ($13).
Or that I can let my friends use my yoyo and they can get a taste of full performance aluminum bearingized yoyo’s without me worrying when they will inevitably ding it.
It’s small for it’s width, I think thats what puts me off it, its less than 40mm wide and at 70g it just makes for a strange combo. A fun one but one that can be put down easily.
You do realize that the cost to manufacture is roughly 1/4 that of the cost here in the States and in Canada, right? Magic YoYo’s price reflects that.
~$100-~$120 for the average aluminum yoyo made in the US/Canada
~$15-~$25 for Magic YoYo/other Chinese yoyo companies. They mass produce them too, so they can also lower the price $5-$10.
My replacement T5 just came in and it’s so smooth. As smooth as my N12. It says “magicyoyo2012” on the side, but the rest looks like a 2011 one. It also comes with the better silicone-like response that works great
Mine says overlord on the sides and magicyoyo on the outer rims (how could i tell which year it’s from?), but i’ve seen others that say magic t5 on the side.
