Hey all! My names, Michael and Iā€™ve been lurking for awhile. I decided after getting a YYF shutter and a legend wing to join the fun since yo-ing (yo-yo-ing? Throwing? Throw- yo-ing?) Has taken over my brain. I grew up skateboarding and have recently got into yo-yos through Astrojax and Kendama. Iā€™m an adolescent mental health technician and will be going back to school for comp si/engineering (Ideally merging the two.) I love the community and hope to be a worthwhile contributor! :kissing_heart:

Welcome to the forums! Glad you got to know about yo-yos through other skill toys! Thereā€™s probably some threads about Kendama and Astrojax in the Unrelated Discussion section.

Welcome @Mooky!

As an aside from yo-yos, I just wanted to thank you for the work you do in the field of adolescent mental health. Iā€™m glad kids and teenagers have good people out there to support their emotional development!

Hello! My name is Nikita. Iā€™ve been throwing yoyos since 2010 and then stopped in late 2013. Only left OD P2 as my all time fav yoyo and never sell it. In summer 2022 Iā€™ve accidentally jumped on yye and remembered all the good days and people connected with yoyos. This is my comeback

Welcome to the forums! Glad you have rediscovered your love of yoyoing and have decided to participate in the forums! The OneDrop Project 2 is a rare one, hope youā€™ll continue to hold on to it even when you have experience the joy of modern yo-yos.

Hi, All. My name is Jason. I dabbled with yoyoā€™s a bit about 10 years ago but they didnā€™t really click at the time. Out of nowhere I got the impulse to jump back in over the last year. More experimenting with shapes and brands than anything, but Iā€™m having fun!

Hi Jason, and welcome to the forums!

One of the best things about this place is the sheer number of different designs of yo-yos you normally wouldnā€™t see. There are some really neat pieces that get posted, especially stuff from independent makers. I hope you have a good time checking it all out, and figuring out some favorite throws of your own.

Agree completely. I have been lurking the mail day thread especially, finding all kinds of new yo-yos to try.

Welcome to the forums! Glad you suddenly got that impulse to jump back in. The variety of yoyos nowadays is mindblowing, you could probably spend your entire life just trying every single yoyo. What yoyos have you been trying out lately?

So far the Terrian and Show Pony are my favorites.

Lately: FRS Black Canon, Aitch, Bolt XP, Torrent, Deeper State. . .

Sounds awesome! Looks like youā€™re leaning towards yoyos that are more chill and laid back in play with those two favourites of yours.

Those yoyos you have been playing lately are all pretty slim, are you looking for a yoyo that both plays great and fits nicely in your pocket?

I just find slimmer yo-yos fun to play for some reason.

My latest purchase is a Sasquatch, so it isnā€™t an exclusive preference.

Nice thatā€™s great! I love slim yoyos as well, great EDCs and are super fun to play with. They are also great for improving your accuracy.

Hmmm, to be fair the Sasquatch is also kind of slim as well, in relation to its diameter.

Hey. My name is Rusty and I just really got into yoyo in the last 4ish months. Last yoyo I owned was in elementary school during the yoyo craze of the late 90s. Now throwing a Thesis Invictus, ZGRT Basilisk, or Offset Yoyo Deviant and also have a Shutter and Canon I will pick up from time to time. Iā€™ve found it to be a great, productive, stress relief hobby I can do while watching tv after work.
