Hola!

I’m Chris, though many people get tired of reading my username after the first two syllables and assume my name is Adam. I am trash at yoyo compared to many, but it’s fun and relaxing, and I have a bit of an issue with collecting things. I started throwing in elementary school during the late-90’s boom, and have been on and off since. I got my first good throw in about '06 with the Buzz-On Element X ReMix. Modern stuff only started for me a little over a year ago, and now I’m hooked.

I love loud music, pokemanz, villains, coffee, yoyo, and my wife and son. Not in that order, lol. I live in sunny Tucson, AZ, and I love it here. I probably spend too much time on these forums and r/throwers, but honestly you people are my tribe. I can’t talk shop with anyone I know in person, so it’s really nice to have a safe space to get my yoyo on.

Hello!

Name’s Ruth and I am a recent arrival to the yoyo scene. I am the proud owner of a First Base. It’s been so far so good– with the exception of my first throw where I, uh, gently flung my poor yoyo into the concrete…

Anywho, I am currently working on a project to design a yoyo accessory. The grand goal is to design a product/system that gives throwers instantaneous, simple feedback on the quality of their throws. It’s all in the name of allowing players to build a solid foundation and even guide them as they advance.

Y’all’s (the thrower/yoyoing community’s) dedication and enthusiasm is what really motivated me to dive into this world, so I’ve really been enjoying working my work. I’m sure you’ll see me skulking around somewhere questioning the masses on their thoughts regarding various concepts or their experiences as a whole. Sending everyone thanks ahead of time for their feedback!

Interesting, what would this look like, how would it work? is it a digital thing?

I been out of the hobby for about 7 years or so. Decided to jump back in with a DV888. Before I had lost my collection my favorite throw was the Di Base

I’m still in the process of ideating, so it’s currently all up in the air. I want to make sure I’m designing something useful, so at the moment I’m working on setting up a new topic to get some guidance/feedback before I set too much in figurative stone. Nothing worse than designing a piece of junk that no one actually needs.

Hello, I’m Cory. I’ve been yoyoing for a little less than a year. I started at 40 years old. I really wish I would have realized how amazing yoyo is at an earlier age but hey better late than never. I became a father for the first time at 40 years old too. Hopefully I can show my son yoyo and it will be a hobby we can share together.

I’m not trying to compete or learn every trick as quickly as possible. That’s not what yoyo is for me. For me yoyo is about relaxing and de-stressing. It’s a hobby I can obsess over at a reasonable and comfortable pace  :yo-yo:

My son is 6 and has started to show interest. I started back up about 1.5 years ago for several reasons; two you listed and the other was to have a wholesome hobby I can share with my son. Congrats on fatherhood, welcome to the club!

hey, ericp… go by fatguy, snacks, or some derivative thereof. 40s, throwyoed quite a bit in college - rocked a deadstock circa 90s duncan glow in the dark imperial that i still bust out to this day- took a mad hiatus. but, my little guy has shown an interest over the past couple years, and is finally tall enough to leave the coffee table. always played responsive, and resharpening my skills that way, as well as to teach the guy the basics. not saying i haven’t been lurking, researching, getting my feel on and stockpiling on all the recent advancements, hah! when i throwyoed, back in the day, it was a break - from the moment, from homework, the bar, the line/queue, the walk, etc… today, it’s a way to distract from the draw of devices too - stay ā€˜in’ the moment. be/play/throw ā€˜responsive’… you ever try to talk to someone on a device? non-responsive - not a panacea… looking forward to this yommunity!!!

Hi all Jordan 57 I’ve been throwing on and off since 3rd grade. First time I got back in as an adult was when I discovered Tom Kuhn, in the late 80s and the yoyo times, and the Yoyoman, Tommy Smothers.
Then a decade later there was the early internet, Yomega Raiders, team Losi etc. and a few weeks ago Idecided to check in again. Got a First Base, its Great to see all the cool things that can be done.

I’ve always liked picture tricks, and side style.

Hello
My name is Frank. I am 28 years old and a Marine Corps infantry veteran. I did some throwing back in the late 90s but didnt learn very much. Recently my wife came home with some cheap yoyos for my kids and it sparked an interest i did not realize I had.
I researched very little but came across a site that had yoyo trick tutorials, and I have been trying to learn basics. I am very interested in learning more from the community here!

Hi! My mame si Sofia and I’m 14 years old girl from Slovakia. In my small country there are just few people interested in yoyoing and I am the only girl. I’m slowly learning more tricks and becoming better (unless I hope). I don’t have any friends that are into yoyoing so I must practice alone all the time. But I love playing with my CzechPoint Pivot. One year ago on Slovak nats I was 2nd in beginners category (out of 2 contestantsšŸ˜‚). And on czech nats in begginers I was 4th (out of 6 or 7). This year, there will not be any Slovak nats because nobody wants to organize them. So currently I am practicing for Czech nats (junior category).

Thank you all for reading this and have a great day . And sorry if my English was bad.

I’m Jeffrey Jene, a professional magician/entertainer living in Albany, New York. I was introduced to yo-yos and spin tops by Mark Hayward many years ago while working together at a festival, but never really tried it until just recently. I started with spin tops, and didn’t think I’d like yo-yos until I tried it, now I’m hooked! I found out about YoYoExpert while shopping for spin tops. I’m not sure how ā€œadvancedā€ I’ll get, but at the moment it is a nice meditation and activity for me.
