Fixed Axle Friday Throws

I almost didn’t throw fixed today like some sorta IDIOT! Poured some root beer and made the word right again with my Spinworthy Ballsy.

Really love the look of the laminated wood!

how many tries did this shot take without the yoyo falling into the root beer?

Today I’m throwing a TMBR Ash eHTEEN and 100% cotton YYE Type-10. The lightest of the trifecta but still just as amazing.

I’ve been experimenting with a couple different throws lately (No Jives, Legend Wing) but I keep coming back to my Spinworthy. I haven’t touched another yoyo in almost two weeks.

I thought I just bought the last NJ that I need to die happy. Wrong, the eH has eluded me more than a few times. Some of the best laser work on wood ever.

Having that yo-yo made by Brad & Tom and working on the art with Jason Week was so crazy. For someone with a pathological No Jive obsession, getting to open that first box and throw that first one was so humbling. The lasering was really ambitious and I’m so thankful it worked.

that yoyo looks massive

Nope, it is sitting on an espresso cup, it is a standard No Jive (~55mm diameter x 33mm wide).

Here’s my modest wood fixie collection. I’m hoping to someday replace one of the Legend Wings with a TMBR eHKNOWN.

I wish there weren’t any of those old Harbingers in circulation. The new ones are far superior.

It’s the only one I’ve found so far on a BST. People love their Harbingers and don’t want to give them up!

Don’t sell your early products short. My first Spinworthy is a great yoyo, I can only imagine how many yoyos you made before feeling ready to actually sell them. I’m guessing if you ask anyone how their early work (no matter what it is) compares to their work after years of experience, the answer is the same - my work has evolved and improved. What I’m trying to say is the early stuff was good, the current stuff is better, and, maybe on a few years you will look at 2019 Spinworthys and say “I wish these weren’t around.” But, remember, you wouldn’t be where you are today without the experience you earned making the early stuff.

@zslane, what fixed axles do you prefer out of your collection so far? Particularly interested about how you like the No Jive.

The non Legend Wings, to be honest. The Legend Wings are maybe too light? I’m just not used to that. I like how solid the No Jive, Morrow, and Harbinger feel, and I like how comfortable in the hand the Morrow and No Jive are.
