What kind of wood is that? Assuming it’s stained?

When searching the Bay I seem to have found another old Duncan Super that may have been carved by the same demonstrator as my dad’s old Duncan. Now I’d halfway like to find more to preserve the legacy… kinda like Higby.

I figure this is the spot to ask such a question. How good is the BC Rainbow? I have always thought they were just gorgeous but never got one. I guess I’m concerned about the laminate holding up at the axle. I seem to see used ones that are misaligned. I’d like to get one if they hold up. Is there anything I should look for?

I’ve got a few that are fantastic but I imagine if stored poorly that can get messed up

I’ve had old BCs have the glue dried out and they have come apart. I just regluded them with some Elmers. I could feel the looseness in the axle while playing

Somebody I knew in middle school had a BC Rainbow, don’t recall trying it back then and if I did, I don’t remember. But if it feels anything similar to the Apollo (weight wise), then you won’t be disappointed. Spectraply feels good and looks cool.

I don’t disagree on the looks. I remember seeing those in museums and science stores and thinking they look so stunning. I will have one.
