Fixed Axle Friday Throws

I prefer the ease of pads, but silicone fits any pad recess and is customizable for height. Some people prefer it.

Here is mine, they are a little different. Those are some special caps on yours, @colinleland didn’t make many of those, and they would have probably been gifted.

Just got this in the mail, good thing it’s Friday. Based on the color I think it’s a later wooden butterfly. Never seen another one in this color before. It’s in amazing shape. All in, I paid $21  Probably won’t run across another find like this.

Apropos of nothing, I found myself thinking about this classic meme I made.

@Nic_from_Adelaide got to ask what cotton string did you send with your YoYo’s. I broke into the handful of them I have a they are fantastic. I need more

@Captrogers I made those, I’ll get some more sent your direction.

If you had a preference of the red, white, or naturals let me know. For apparently identical thread made to the same recipe they’re all a little bit different in play.

If you have old fashioned loopers that need burner string I’ve got a recipe I’m working on, they feel and look the same but shred in a day or two. Whereas the string I sent won’t shred, but the torsion gets annoying to control when the string hits full stretch

Ha that’s awesome. Yeah I pulled one if your string out and tossed it on my no jive and when I played it I was super impressed.

Natural would be fine. I would love some wood looper string too. I’ll message you and we can figure out specifics and payment. Definitely one of the best cotton string I’ve used to date s as bd totally get it that each plays unique kind of like wood.

Blueberry :blueberries: got an upgrade recently. The machining on these is excellent. It fit in perfectly and also come out without a tool. The outer diameter spans almost all of the bearing well, so there is minimal gap.

Still getting used to the feel but I like it. It is very smooth since it eliminates pad rubbing while spinning. It does make the yo-yo slightly less responsive with a fraction less consistency since it takes a bit more wrapping around the axle before contacting the pads ( same with CT vs flat bearings).

Overall enjoying this so far, looking forward to putting one in my PLASM when I get the time to tinker some more.

Thanks for making these @jeduardo. I know I asked you ~ a year ago about helping me make plain bearing blanks and I’m glad that I didn’t follow through with those because these are really great. :+1:
