Oh, but it still has a really slim profile. I think that guy was talking more about flared butterflies.
Also, they I believe YYJ has a Japan Relief wooden Imperial, and TMBR’s Morrison looks like it has more of a Modded shape… Like the Duncan Dragon Fly.
I hit jade whip on my Fremont a few times today. Decided to try to get video of it and missed it about 20 times in a row. I gave up when my knuckles started to hurt too much. If you stall it, it’s almost like a stop and go.
Dang! I was trying jade whips yesterday afternoon to no success. My Baldwin just didn’t seem heavy enough to stay still enough for the whip to hit the catch zone. I’ll get it soon though.
I think I’ve got the trapeze stall down. I’ve been practicing it all weekend with my Imperial. My Butterfly’s axle got destroyed from me trying to cut out a string with scissors. I think I may order a TMBR Lovejoy soon.
I’ve always tried to throw non responsive tricks on fixed axles. I’m looking forward to learning the classic tricks. I’m curious whether or how it will effect my bearing play and my personal learning curve.
Thanks - I’d never thought of it this way (and the theory makes my brain hurt a little), but I have noticed this while playing fixie, if I have a good long spinning throw - the next is likely to be better suited to a stall.
@LinksLegionaire - that really is a beautiful throw. Even if it does wobble a bit, I’d try work around those flaws, just because it looks so good.
