Thanks, Greg and Links! I appreciate your comments.
It sounds like you know a bit about these graphics programs. I got my degree in Graphic Design, but am so old that I didn’t start using design software until after I started working. I had to use Fireworks though because I no longer have access to Photoshop or Illustrator anymore. It’s a good alternative.
I moved the letter “O” down a bit too and squished it. My girlfriend told me that the “Y” looked too much like a “V”. Does it look like a “Y” now?
Definitely look more like a ‘Y’. Though if it needs to get shrunk down to an engraving, it may look more like a ‘V’. Maybe move it up a bit to further differentiate it from a ‘V’?
Another small tweak would be squishing the ‘O’ in (to make it more circular) so that the sides are vertically parallel with the right and left tips of the ‘Y’.
What I like about the middle one is that it uses the number “3” in a font that does not look like the letter “E.” Even when you turn the 3 backwards in that font, it’s very clear that it is supposed to be the number 3. You seemed the first to do that so far. Good job. But, out of the three, the bottom one looks the best to me, and most original compared to the other ones posted. It is the way a logo should be, clear, and simple and the way you fit the “YO” into the design, is original. Great job!
Oh, if the second one is a go, I’d join the bottom of the two 3s somehow, to get rid of that white space under the O, and make the “O” stand out. The space looks like part of the letter. The only thing my eye is catching on the second one is that detail. They all look good.
Thanks, you guys. I appreciate your all your comments. You guys are really great to take the time to look and give your opinions. I’m hoping the guys at 3yo3 like it too.
Total Artist, thanks very much for your input. I actually did try connecting the ends of the 3’s, but they started losing their shape and I couldn’t see the 3’s as well. Here’s what I ended up with. One looked like a giant mustache to me. That’s when I decided it was time to quit. ;D
I think it’s great that amidst the wretched hive of scum and villainy dubbed the internet, there exists a small colony of people actually willing to help one another for the sake of being helpful.
