We have too many 1a, 3a, and 4a judges
Why is nobody submitting videos for this? I am tired of hosting a contest that people enter but donât submit videos. Last contest I did I got one over half of all the videos this contest, the tallys are:
1A: 12/25
2A: 0/3
3A: 0/4
4A: 2/6
5A: 3/7
DD: 1/2
I need vids guys. You have two days.
Frankly, I think the only qualified 1A judges are Mike Nak, Elliot, and Palli. This is really just because of their rankings and such. I know Colin and Chase to be good judges but I would not say theyre really qualified in contrast to the previously mentioned guys. I dont really know much about Zorro or Mouse, but I can take a good guess in saying they arent very qualified either.
Just my opinion on the subject, and like previously mentioned, there are prizes now and I think this contest should be taken more seriously.

But why did you have to use the 4a scores, lol I did so bad in that contest. You gotta use the 5a scores as a reference haha, I did good in that division

Look here everybody, I am not trying to be mean, but I have heard enough of this about the judging.
This contest is for fun. The only reason prizes are here, is because Andre so graciously offered them. Just because of prizes, you all want to make the inexperienced judges leave? Why? They are (or at least I am) here to judge because I want the experience of judging an actual contest. This is the only one I can do without having some experience, so I might as well try it. We can also learn from this experience.
Itâs my contest, my system, I select the judges, and THAT IS FINAL!
If your making the judging rules how are you going to learn then?
And about the whole judging thing.
You do not learn to judge by judging. Its like JD letting you take his place at the world yoyo contest just so you can âlearnâ how to do it.
You watch/shadow a judge to learn. Not just take their place.
Just like GregP said with the car. Its like having a rookie offer to do the job and the rookie isnât qualified.
Im sorry, I do not want to be mean at all. But we cant just have people judge because they want to âtry it out.â
They can âtry it outâ in a smaller contest, or something random meant for new judges.
In all honesty, Chase and I have as much judging as Elliot and Michael do. Just because you do better at a contest doesnât make you qualified at all. Michael just judged his first contest, a smaller one, and recently Elliot, Chase and I have been practicing judging. Saying someone isnât âqualifiedâ compared to others is pretty rude considering that YOU DONâT KNOW. Thanks.
