Zipline strings

Alright, I’ve been using exclusively Skyline and EP 20/20 for the past month. I love how nice the Skyline feels. I also love the thinness of the EP 20/20, however, it starts to fray after about a week (I usually play 2-3 hours a day). Is there a Zipline formula that feels like a thin version of Skyline?

I have some ZS Air I’ve yet to crack into.

Its been a long time since I had EP20/20, and your experience lines up with mine. Incredible play, but frayed a little fast.

ZSAir doesnt quite play like EP20/20, but it is absolutely incredible and is completely imune to fraying, I’ve got some ZSAir from release that still look and play like new.

exec lites are noticeably thinner than skylines and zs airs and are amazing strings. they’re 80 nylon 20 poly i believe. extremely comfy, slower whips and slacks than pure nylon and fray extremely slowly

I been rocking this polyesque string sample i got from worlds for like months lol i wasn’t sure about it at first but it definitely grew on me and i got another sample at il states recently. Just bc a string start to fray doesn’t mean the string is done. ime the fraying gets matted back down and strings still play well and consistently. The one i got at worlds i think i need to change bc it looks nasty tho… even if the string still is playing well lol. Idk I just feel like fraying is a sign that a string is breaking in and not necessarily that the string is toast. Nothing wrong with preferring fresh string though. Just hear this a ton and idk wanted to talk about it. Also just generally for the thread i wanna say that yo, zipline does make some dope strings and I’m in. Prolly going to order some soon. Been wanting to try the zs air for 3a bc theyre pretty thick and that string slides against itself well without the weird tension issues or funky slacks Ive seen with other 100% nylon strings.

100% agreed that fraying doesnt mean a string is done, i have noticed that a frayed string is more likely to snag on itself in the gap than a fresh string though. When the string starts getting snaggy is when I tend to change them

I personally wouldn’t consider a string done for once it starts to fray, I play my strings till they start looking gross, or I’m taking one out on the town where I know people will want to see it. I guess my comment about the fraying had more to do with the thread makeup of the string itself. I’m going on 2 months with a skyline string and aside from looking a little dirty, that thing still plays so nice.

The EP 20/20 plays really good, but it’s missing a little je ne sais quoi if you will. It lacks that sweet sweet bouncy flowy feeling the Skyline has. I was hoping there was maybe a Skyline made with a lower thread count.

The EP 20/20 is my favorite thinner string, along with MM Drakens. My favorite ZL string though after trying several of theirs is the Business Class. Plays just how I like it.

I’m becoming more of a thin string convert in the recent months. It gives me a bit of extra confidence when learning new stuff that involves a multiple string wraps.

I like thin strings— but only when I can find my glasses.

Can confirm, it’s incredible. Makes any yoyo feel like a luxury object.

I saw in their site that they are updating the smoothie line and others with a plush poly that is similar, their Airetic nylon that’s in the Polyesque and ZS. Air.

I asked if they’d consider making it in black, as my mechanic hands dirty up string quickly lol.

does anyone have both a skyline and a g2 diamond that can take a side by side?

I have them.

Skyline III
G2 Diamond Blend
Executive Class Lite

All straight out of the package.

Edit to add the same three but with some use.

The thickness is not as close in play, IMO.

I’ve also played all 3. I like the G2 Diamond the best.

The Polyesque is on the thinner side as well. Definitely a tad thinner than the Exec Class and plays fairly similar as well.

I will have to check out Polyesque, as even EC lite is too thick for me at this point.

The Polyesque is only a tad thinner.

but wears WAY faster. i liked it ok at first but I’m liking it less and less. i noticed the prestige is gone again. i havent reached out yet but I’m curious when we’ll get more of those

I remembered that I have some packs of CS122, which became Polyesque. Assuming it didn’t change significantly, it looks significantly thicker than what I am currently using.

I felt that Prestige broke down faster than Skyline III/Diamond Blend/EC Lite.
