Actually, in the review, from minute 3:30 to 4:30 those areas are mentioned.

I have been playing mine for the past week and I haven’t noticed any catching at all

After trying a bunch of other new yo-yo’s recently I’ve been throwing my Winglet today and it is great. Fast and stable. Love this thing!

Holy cow! This is a great throw! So smooth. Just got it today and i don’t think I’ll be able to focus on work for the next 5 hours

With the SE version do you still get the “string click” at the gap yoyoJoe mentioned in his review? This really annoys me on other throws with a similar issue and is a deal breaker for me.

Winglet SE is the exact same design afaik, just run using 7068 instead of 6061.

For this run, we softened/improved that area just a tiny bit to reduce that noise Yoyojoe was talking about (he was using one of our first run ones)

Yes, we used exactly the same design for both 6061 and 7068. However, on the 7068 version we reduced the center weight few grams (behind the bearing seat) to reach the desired weight we wanted for that version. By doing so, we implicitly pushed that weight proportionally towards the rims.

First off I’ll say i have the original winglet and i actually like the ring. I have no issues with the string. But i don’t do any thechy stuff yet.
I have not played my second run winglet yet, because i can’t put the SE down.
The SE is effing Smooth as silk. I mentioned it in another thread, but now I’ve played it for close to 2 hours today. It’s almost as silent as my Banshee SS and way more comfortable in my hand. The SE spins forever and feels very stable.
And honestly for the price these where a no brainer and the SE is instantly one of my favorite throw.

Is this change perceptible in a photo? If so could you provide a comparison pic of the profile?

Just to be clear, you’re saying the both the SE and the newest run of the OG have this design change, or just the newest run of the OG winglet has a slightly “softened” slope into the bearing?

The ‘ring’ appeals to me! Too ring is to sing! I really wanna like this yoyo, I’m just worried about the string ‘click’ at the gap. If this has been softened in the 2nd run I’ll likely pick one up.

It is not perceptible (we are talking about decimals of mm) —I am attaching pictures of the profile of the first (dark) and second run (orange).

First run is sold out. Second run (all the winglets available on our site) encompasses The 6061 and the 7068. Both have exactly the same design which has that improvement.

I can see a slight difference there actually! Thanks for taking the time!

Not a problem! Thanks for asking.

Well…actually it should look softened
