You do realize that I work for my money right? Try that for a bit instead of calling other people rich Please refrain from using obscene language. Little “*” don’t make it okay. Thanks.
Even a kid can make enough money to buy a $200 yoyo.
Besides, if you’ve seen any of the launch videos of the ricochet, you can see it plays well.
Doompod, you seriously cannot use that language here. I don’t know if you are joking or not, but absolutely inappropriate either way.
Totalartist, glad you love the Ricochet. I also love mine. I understand your reasons for getting a second and for getting a matching silver one, but if you can get a purple Ricochet I seriously do not think there is a more beautiful yoyo on the planet. It blows my mind every time I look at it. Thanks for the review, as stated, I already have one, but I love it and I’m glad someone else feels the same way.
So you’re saying that you can learn more how a yoyo plays from a cross section picture than from it being played by 5 different players? To hell with logic!
Tell me what you learned from watching those guys play with the Ricochet. What, that they can do their tricks on it? Neat-o. Top players in the world should be able to do most of their tricks on anything they pick up. $200 titanium YYF or a ONE, doesn’t matter.
Trolling again. Your welcome. Next time…at least just hit the thank you button like last time. I know you hate it when I don’t give you any attention at all…so there.
Thanks N8dogg. I am glad the focus is now on the yo-yo, which is great, rather than other distractions. You really made it hard for me to decide on getting another raw one. If that purple is as stunning in person, I’d definitely love to see it and add it to my collection. What a dilemma. Thanks for sharing your opinion of this great throw.
I have never seen so much controversy over a Ti yoyo before. The Anglam only has Ti weight rings and yet it costs far more than this, yet I haven’t seen a topic bashing it like this one.
I find it funny that if this was released by CLYW, people would be falling over themselves trying to get their hands on one, no questions asked. It’s clear that there’s a fair amount of general YYF hate underlying this topic, as there is for any thread involving YYF.
Its a normal yoyo made of Titanium. No boundaries pushed, no fancy frills, just an affordable Titanium yoyo. It won’t be the worlds greatest yoyo, it won’t even out-perform the rest of your high-end aluminium collection. However… it’s shiny, it makes sparks, you can throw it out of a moving vehicle without it getting ruined, and it’s made out of Titanium, which is cool because it’s not a metal that your average person sees much. If none of this tickles your pickle, then you don’t have to buy it. There are plenty of people that will so leave it to them.
All this talk of “thin walls” and “cross sections”… like all that even makes a difference. No Titanium yoyo is going to outperform a high end metal by any really significant margin, regardless of weight distribution.
The thing is, so should you.
Unless you’re starting to learn/hit a trick, you should have no problem on hitting it either on a One or on an Anglam or on a Ricochet. When I’m first starting on a trick, it may be easier to hit it on a high end yoyo due to the longer spin time and higher stability, but once I have it down, I can hit it in any of my unresponsive yoyos.
And if you haven’t seen the ricochet videos yet, go see them.
What amazes me is that none of the bashing people have even tried the yoyo.
I haven’t been able to see yet one slightly negative comment from someone who has played the yoyo.
This shows how much of anti YYF fanboys these folks gotta be.
“What? Another high end metal yoyo? It’s not CLYW nor YYR, and is not marketed as the revolution of yoyoing? It has to suck!”
Do you actually expect someone who just spent $160 to $200 admit that it’s not as great as the hoped it would be?
Also I don’t see anyone bashing the yoyo. Can you please point out one post that is bashing this yoyo? I said I find the shape uninteresting. That is hardly bashing the yoyo. We were just asking what is the point in using titanium if you don’t take advantage of its properties? Because it sparks? Hmm ok. If you want a yoyo that sparks you could make the rims titanium and the rest aluminum. Because it’s shiny? You can make a lot of different metals shiny.
I would quote it, but it’s a bit long, and I don’t want to take up so much space !
I have to say that you really captured the spirit of what I believe most people would feel should they purchase one for themselves.
I will add that the Purple version is such a different looking color for a Titanium throw, I happen to own both colors, and they almost look like different YoYo’s,… the contrast is that stark !
I also have to compliment you on the great photos you attached as well. You’ve become an exceptional photographer.
This is representative of the derailment of many good threads these days - all by the same people. It is hard to see what these arguments are adding to this discussion other than distraction from discussing what appears to be a fine throw.
Who said I couldn’t? On any unresponsive yoyo, huh? Sounds lime you need to step your game up. I hope you know this particular section of your argument only amplifies mine. Its a lazy approach to what I’ve been preaching on these boards for years.
I’ve seen the videos. Not a single smile, Harold even looked upset throwing the thing.
Oh, and for all the people claiming YYF was just trying to make a normal yoyo out of titanium, no fanciness or claiming to be anyhting special, what’s the deal with the minute long freestyles and the “once this releases you wont have to throw your yoyo anymore!” Video descriptions? Eh?
You are going to chastise for derailing threads? You are one of the kings of derailment. You have your good points from time to time but you have no room to criticize for causing a train wreck any more than I do.
Well… if YoyoGeezer is a “king of derailment” as you say he is, then out of anyone here, he would know what it would take to derail a thread. So if he accuses you ( which he didn’t by the way , he only said " all by the same people" so doesn’t exactly mean you, but as they say the guilty dog barks first) I’m probably going to believe him because he knows what he is talking about since again he is a “king of derailment”.
You know, I can’t believe this argument is still going on. The Ricochet is just another yoyo, there’s nothing special about it, and I think most of us can tell that without a cross section. Personally, I like the look of the Ricochet, and if I had the cash, I would buy it.
Thanks Stickman, not only for sharing your honest opinion of this yo-yo with me privately, but giving me a credible perspective about it, among other great titanium throws. With your fantastic collection, not many others on this board would have the same insight.
You were inspiration for the photographs, so I am glad you like them. It is the highest compliment. You have inspired us all to step our photo game up on the forum. It is a much better looking forum now. I’ve taken that inspiration and used it to encourage more people. Thanks so much for your input on this and elsewhere.
