Finally tried Draupnir, some guy had two fo them at Winter Freestyle contest.
Firstly, both of them had vibe, one was still playable, but second was really annoying. No idea what was he doing with them, becuase I dont believe Yoyorecreation can sells something so bad.
Now about play, I really enjoyed how it combines long sleep and stability with lighter feel and I think it makes great choice for contests. But for some reason, I was not so excited from it, for example I thought that Krown was strictly better. Talked with Petr Kavka about it, he told me this guy had some strange set up on his Draupnirs, because when Petr tried them at WYYC, they played much better.
So I got some small peep on possibilities of Draupnir, but I will need to find it again, not so messed up.
When I was thinking about it later, I think Draupnir is as other proffesional equipment, you need to know how to care about it, how to set up, otherwise you can ruin even best thing in the world
Really wanting to try one of the new YYRs, but Iâm not sure which one I should get. I really like the play of the ReClash, but I hate the shape. Also really like the Gen-Yo Majesty. (trying to give you an idea of what yoyos I like for reference)
I like the shape of the Laser a bit better, but I definitely donât like that itâs 40mm wide, as I tend to lean towards 43mm or wider. Leaning towards the Draupnir, but I have no idea how they play. Meant to grab a blue Draupnir, but it looks like I was late on that. So should I grab a Draupnir, or wait until the next run of Lasers?
I didnât ever see the blue Draupnirs in stock and i was on their site a couple days ago when i first heard about them, so i dunno, they must have had a really small amount or they havenât even made them available. As for Draupnir vs. Laser itâs hard to say. Theyâre both amazing. If you like a really powerful, slightly solid yoyo then the Laser is amazing. If you prefer something a bit lighter then the Draupnir is also amazing. I usually donât care for even slightly heavy yoyos but i love the Laser. As for the Laserâs width, it doesnât feel 40mm at all. The whole catch zone is such a perfect smooth shape and combined with the ridiculous stability even sloppy play isnât noticeable at all and the Laser just steams along. No matter which one you get, i suspect youâll want the other one immediately, so you really canât go wrong. I will say the black Draupnir looks great and with that blasted finish is quite special, so i might lean towards that, especially since itâs in stock.
You should shed the preconceived notions when evaluating these yo-yoâs. As has been stated, unless you know the specs, the Laser does not play like a narrow yo-yo at all; that is the point. It is a narrow yoyo that plays like a Gleipnir. Rock-steady stability and super-powerful spin. And it all happens to be in a narrow shape.
The Draupnir is big and has a straight shape; but that should not affect your choice. You will find the Draupnir to perform much different than the specs might suggest for regular throw. The Draupnir is light and fast while also retaining the stability and spin.
I was gonna say $100-$120, so yeah, maybe more if a couple people want it, even though they were being blown out for $75 theyâre still a) rare and b) play amazingly so not many people part with them.
Haha yes but Iâll keep my eye on the bst and with a bit of luck oneâll turn up!
You must post when you get it and say if itâs as floaty as everyone claims!
