I really want a tempered rim Draupnir

Haha I wish! Maybe if the price dropped by $300! Seriously though, you have an awesome collection.

Sure, but the utility of the yoyo never goes down, and it will last a lifetime.

Everyone knows a Dazzler is not 70 times as good as a classic.

A draupnir is not 20 times as good as a classic.

Some would argue the half price YYRs that were blown out were overpriced for their value. They are not even 7.5 times as good as a classic.

Anyone buying a YYR has disposable income to allow for such luxurious indulgences. You hit your tipping point below $700. At some point you wonā€™t spend a lot on a yoyo, but your threshold is clearly higher than most of the yoyo buying public. Some of us have enough disposable income to buy it without a need for justifying it. I have a dazzler and an iPad. I get more use out of my dazzler. The iPad is a toy, not a real work tool, and I get more utility out of my iPhone than my iPad. For what I canā€™t do on my iPhone, I usually need my laptop. The ipad mostly just serves as a video streaming device for trips. I had a $200 DVD player that could play XVID and MPEG 4 files off a USB drive that already did that, and was only twice as thick.

I would argue the iPad has little value in my estimation.

These are not utility items. No one should spend $700 on a yoyo or an ipad. However, some of us do.

Not planning, as I have one, but would say that anyone with the means should consider it. It is a very nice throw.

Some of us do find value in the ability to do work with the iPad. If you find more value in the Dazzler than an iPad, I think you and I have different priorities. Not judging, just saying that I can find more to do on with iPad than a Dazzler.

Wow. Really makes me happy to see this thread still going strong. Iā€™m so out of the game is not even funny guys. Get me caught up here! lol

All YYR have been discontinued 'cept the new Dazzler, Draupnir, and Laser.

Thatā€™s crazy. All I have left are my 5 Clashes '10-12 and my messiah and mirror polished E that Bud never ended up buying from me. Lost touch with him too, and it saddens me to think that was the main reason for itā€¦

By the way stickman, that is a mighty fine looking collection there brother.

No Jealousy??? Whereā€™d that one end up going? And yeah havenā€™t seen Bud in forever.

So whatā€™s the deal with there never being a Fragment/Uragment on the BST when both were available in the lucky bag/box/whatever deals and the Fragment being available for 50% off at some point? Were they still moderately rare or not produced for a long time despite being briefly available at bargain bin prices?

Iā€™m not absolutely jumping out of my seat to acquire them but everything about them leads me to believe I would enjoy them and I sorta expected that Iā€™d just be able to pick up one or both for a reasonable price on the BST with ease so Iā€™m sort of surprised that some weeks have passed without seeing one available or having one offered to me.

Also, for anyone that has thrown both, care to give a quick comparative review? From what Iā€™ve read on this thread it sounds like the specs (weight) are actually about the same despite what some other sites might suggest.

Iā€™m in the same situation. It seems that those who tried them really like light yoyos and weā€™re fairly certain that they would enjoy them before they bought them, and as a result they never wanted to sell them. I have not tried either of them, but from what I have heard the Uragment plays a bit lighter and more stable. But if you want a real comparison PM NathanC. He has multiples of both as far as I know, or at least multiples of the uragment.

I think it says a lot about a yoyo when you never see them for sale on b/s boards. Theyā€™re obviously worth keeping.

I feel like a bit of a mug because they had fragments in stock for aaageess in our UK store, to the point where they almost looked like they wouldnā€™t sell. Theyā€™re finally went and it was only afterwards that I realised how much I wish I had picked one up.

What can you do eh? I hope YYR bring out something similar in the future.

Nah man. Bud got that Jealousy a while agoā€¦

So I havenā€™t heard much about the six. How is it?

The Six is an amazing little throw! Very stable, fast and powerful.
Plays quite solid and the bearing D is not a problem on it!
Very fun and strong spintimeā€¦a true YYR

When the Lucky Boxes came out the Fragment or Uragment was not that rare at all (I canā€™t remember which one it was. There were many A- grades and A grades on the BST. I saw the A- grade Lucky Box on their site and passed it up, but when I saw that they did an A grade box with 3 yoyos in it for under $200 I had to jump on it. I ended up with an Attune, DreadnoughtG, and a Stargeyser. I had bought the last Orange Sleipnir straight from Shinya Kido after he won Japan Nationals with an orange Sleipnir a few weeks before that. Anyway, at the time I had a lot of people offering the Fragment/Uragment for my YYR yoyos that came in the box (made it very clear that the Sleipnir wasnā€™t for sale or trade), but I needed to sell. I ended up selling the Stargeyser and Attune on the forums for $100 a piece, and the splashed DreadnoughtG on eBay for $110. I sold just in time too because about a week and a half later everything left on YYR was reduced to half price. Now after reading some of this thread again Iā€™ve started wanting to find another Attune. Iā€™d love another Sleipnir, but I know thatā€™ll be an elusive and expensive buy. Hopefully I can get the Attune sometime soon though.

Wow. Last I was active on here, a Sleipnir was certainly no scarce commodity. Pretty sure I sold mine for practically chump change because of a couple dings all the way on the outer rims. But god was that thing smooth with a kk 10 ball in it. Top 3 for sure. Dead smoothness is not important to me, but the way that thing would fly around so gracefully between the strings, almost completely void of tangible vibration both in the tactile sense and the aural with a just-not-quite-bone-dry kk10ā€¦ You just know youā€™re handling a fine precision instrument, and an unprecedented synergy with just those particular bearings. irpads in the grooves, fat white kitty string all strung up ready to goā€¦ Hahaha, starting to remember why I fell in love with these things all over again. Unfortunately, the olā€™ walletā€™s gonna be out of commission basically until further noticeā€¦ Not unfortunately I consider my Clashes undisputed favorites, so even though I canā€™t build a collection and buy each new throw that comes out like the olden days, I could never say Iā€™m dissatisfied by ā€œonlyā€ having 5 Clashes, hahaha

^^^ Still got that green one i traded you??? Man i miss that thing. Clashes are so fun. What a cool collection to have.

Also new Draupnir color:

That is the color that I have been waiting for! So nice!

anyone picking up a draupnir or anything? Iā€™d like to pick up a jacket but I canā€™t justify the shipping for it.
