If I had enough money on Dazzler, I would rather spend it on trip to Japan WYYC 2015 
I was shopping for a new iPad for my wife this weekend. You could get a 64GB iPad ($699) for the same price as a Dazzler. That is a sobering thought.
One represents the culmination of approximately 25,000 years of human technical innovation, the other is a solid piece of metal; spun on a lathe.

Oh come now, for an engineer surely this is a highly refined piece of ore, carefully crafted to include minimal amounts of minerals and contaminants; finely worked over on a digital lathe, with the skill and craftsmanship garnered from countless years spent working metal over a furnace. This is all finished with a laser engraving utilizing some of that same Ipad technology to finish the carefully wrought titanium with a lovingly constructed design to bring you countless hours of skill based enjoyment without ever costing you any more than the initial product.
Whereas the Ipad is a digital book that only works for a few hours without you having to pump it full of your hard earned money via the medium of your electricity bill or your itunes account. Occasionally itâll stop working for no apparent reason, or lose all of your hard earned work developing your skills of throwing some stern looking cartoon birds across a screen to destroy some poorly rendered structures. Doesnât even have flash.
But no in all honesty Iâm only teasing. I wouldnât buy a Dazzler either I donât think. Although I might buy a tablet.
I have to agree. Despite how many thousands of dollars Iâve spent on yoyos, I just canât spend that much on one yoyo. Especially when my $40 Rally is my most used throw.

Any guesses as to whatâs up with the ano on this Sleipnir i just got? Itâs got these weird rings in the cup. Were any A- Sleipnirs sold? I thought i remember a few, but couldnât find any in my searching. Maybe just lots of finger spins or something? Could that wear the ano down? Afaik itâs legit. Weighs correctly and bought it from James Reed. HmâŠ
Definitely mark from finger spins and thumb grinds. Thatâs why anodizing 7075 are so hard. Ano doesnât penetrate as deep into the metal so that makes it more likely to allow for ano to removed by grinds.

Sweet. I may be getting a blue unengraved in a trade but the guy isnât sure if itâs legit. So it should have a thick silver axle with no hex, a mark near the response, and a curvy bearing seat, correct?
One will be worth $0 in 10 years, and be desired by no one. The other will still be fun to play with. Technology is not always a great investment.
It was not a comparison of investment potential. It was a comparison of value. I think that the iPad represents more utility value for than a yoyo. How many of us buy a car to drive with future value in mind? The value is in its present use(s).
