I will be able to after the ano draupnirs are out. I’m waiting for that.
The ETA on them was October, but I don’t see them coming out any time soon, waiting on them aswell.
Me too. I was reading that in Norse mythology, the Draupnir is a magical ring that can duplicate itself, so why can’t YYR just find a way to duplicate some of those ano’d Draupnirs? :-\
Although, the pictures I’ve seen look great, and based on others thoughts about it, I feel it will be well worth the wait.
THE NAME SUITS THE YOYO SO WELL.
The SS rings are magical.
but I dunno about duplication haha
POW like a smack in the face of shiny goodness!!! Wow I’d be afraid to touch it that shine is enough to make me want to wrap it in a plastic bubble and make it out to beike bubble boys only sterile bubble wrapped toy lol.
Oh dang 250+ dollar tips in 500 dollar per dozen shafts me smells an Olympian 8) or a really good archer working on something special.
Oversized, thin Titanium walls with large Osmium weight rings. You’d end up with BTH spin times. =P
I decided to wait for the second run. These were supposed to go for 500usd. Do you think they will get rid of the nub?
So far there’s just the raw version and the one with tempered rims. Many people seem to be waiting for the anodised versions.
They’re all basically the same, the only difference is the finish (or lack thereof).
I understand why people might be waiting. The contrast of the anodized color with the SS rims looks really nice. I am tempted to get a second one for using at work just because the anodized ones look so good.
… but when?
Yes… when?
I can’t wait.
Yoyorecreation: The natives are getting restless!
Yes they are!! But I do not think they read nor care about these boards :-\
Sadly, I agree.
But it is the land of the free. I will stand upon the highest peak to proclaim my need for anodized Draupnirs; and Yoyorecreation be cursed if the hear me or not!
… Ok; pretty please… ;D
Yea I spoke about this in page 97 on using thin Ti walls with their weighted ring technology in a reply about how weighted rings works much better than using Ti only. You can only distribute the weight so much with solid Tis even though the walls can be extremely thin but can’t make up for the weight needed in the thicker parts with the same Ti.
There must be a Japanese yoyo forum somewhere right? Wonder if that’s where the good info is released lol.
They make tungsten tips? Wow I’ve only used the aluminum (I think that’s what they are) tips. How are they different?
I use tungsten tips as well. Weight distribution is different. Gotta remember tips aren’t just the spike alone but the tip’s body as well. Basically personal preference as it ends up being the overall shape/mass that plays a factor since any two tips can weigh the same but just depends on the pjrofile that one likes that makes it a decision to choose between the two.
I’m a big tosser and have been since I was knee high to a grass hopper but not many real enthusiasts like across the pond in the States. I have a few friends that put up good matches but outside of that a random game in public is just embarrassing.
I bet there are more people shelling out cash for nice darts than yoyos since gambling doesn’t veer far from dart boards, pool tables, etc… They can get quite expensive if throw often.
@DrAwesome,
The tungsten arrow points help minimize the profile of the arrow (higher density = smaller form factor at the same weight), thus reducing some drag as well.
Many archers swear by it, but i haven’t used tungsten points enough to have a say in performance.
@MLYYM,
In my opinion, spending good money on darts is justifiable; the changes in the sport aren’t as drastic as like we see in yoyoing. Spend on a good set of darts, you’re probably set for the year or two. Same goes for snooker/pool. Yoyos however, have so much ground to cover. Having a new throw every month just doesn’t seem enough at times.
