It’s a powder coat done by Wesley Cheng.
The logo is partially visible but definitely harder to see. I could have had him leave the hub raw I suppose. That might look interesting. I don’t really care about the Laser logo though. I wanted the e=mc^2 coated and got the Laser done for just $10 extra. I’m very satisfied with the results.
What do you mean about “can’t ano steel and aluminum together” ? The steel rims were left raw. They look purple in the pic due to flash reflection.
If steel is left in the anodizing solution, it would dissolve, which is why a YoYo with steel rims or inserts can’t be anodized. And yea, I was about sad the logo had to be covered too :(.
I just meant you would have had to remove the steel inserts if it was ano’d, which is why i assumed it was powder. I remember when i was looking into ano’ing my Draupnir and Laser i learned that putting steel in an aluminum anodizing bath is a very bad thing.
YYR needs to release something soon, I am just itching to light some money on fire but there’s really nothing out there that jumps out at me. The best I have done in the past month was a Cypher on the BST for $30 and I expect much much more from myself when it comes to obsessively buying things. It doesn’t necessarily have to be YYR but the Sputnik looks sort of appealing and YYR has had more huge hits with me than any other company as far as throws purchased:throws loved goes

Nice! Where does one find specs on this? Is the overall weight different or anything else? I can only find one online store that seems to carry it (alas, not YYE) and there are no specs on the page.
I’ve found 2 of them.
After plastic whip they say its 65.6g while the people at werrds booth told me it was 1g less than the previous version.
The difference in diameter is perhaps smaller than seen from the picture above, maybe only ~0.3mm
