YoYoRecreation Appreciation Thread

I think that sentence wanted to say you wont feel its difficult to convey your movement inputs from your hands to the yoyo. Further down in that review the author also mentioned that the accurate and clear responses returned by this yoyo can calm you down in stressful competitions. Incidentally this is also how i used to describe my speeder2 (lol)
The phenomizm on the other hand can start to bounce around BEFORE you fully execute every move. If you attempt to mindlessly push-accelerate it without dead-on muscle memory for the next string hits, it will fly out of control quite easily.

I cant say much on the effects of an elevated inner circle (around the bearing) of the response groove; I dont feel a huge difference in string snag between the irony jp or Takuto L5 (both elevated) and the speeder2 or Yoyomiracle Telekinesis (both level). The response pads effect on that seems much greater. (And I learned a new thing that you can use size A bearing shields as size C shims derp

The Triad is definitely worth its price

Is there any reason to buy one if you have Draupnir already? Iā€™m trying to justify buying plastic yo-yos and itā€™s difficult. I just bought the Diffusions as a 3A beater set.

Totally different yoyos, and I love plastics. Plus I got rid of my Draupnirs, and I donā€™t miss them.

Hmmā€¦Itā€™s really worth 7800 yen? Iā€™ve found a store that sells YYJ Next Level at the same price.

Iā€™m on the fence. Which color has better resale value? I like the yellow slightly better but if clear has better resale value Iā€™m getting clear.

Iā€™d say that the Yellow has a better resale value. If you donā€™t like it Iā€™d be surprised. Its well worth the money imo.

I honestly think that the Sunshine is so much better for 1A and 3A, but it has some negatives to it. Sunshines are prone to cracking which causes some vibe, but they feel so much more comfortable in the hand and donā€™t have a ā€œkickbackā€ to them, like the triad. Sunshines are distributed better so they are more stable but also faster, delrin is very smooth and better for grinds, FINGERSPINS ARE AMAZING ON THE SUNSHINE, and it is much easier to unscrew at first compared to the Triad :stuck_out_tongue:

To me Delrin and Molded plastics shouldnā€™t be compared. Two completely different plastics and a completely different ways theyre made. Weight distribution between the two are often very different because of the way they can be made.

POM can be injection molded as well.

From my knowledge every delrin yoyo I know of have been machined like metals.

Which do you think is better for 5A? Iā€™m guessing the Sunshine since yo-yos designed for 3A typically make good 5A yo-yos.

Has anyone thrown both?

Has anyone tried a Sunshine? They look interesting. I like my 2014 Genesis, which has weight rings positioned much like the Sunshineā€™s.

Just gonna say that I donā€™t think the thin walls of the sunshine could survive many hits before cracking

It is nice that it glows though

Classic Sleipnir shape+ Laser rims?

Kinda what i was thinking. Cup looks very Laser-ish, then with a sharper profile.

It looks a lot smaller than a Laser. Either Ahmad Kharisma has very large hands or itā€™s more like Dazzler size.

ok the Triad is definitely a string eater, even if itā€™s very slowly. It can easily be played for hours without issues, but only in normal play. The weight rings are sharp and cut off strings after youā€™ve abused horizontal play. Adjusting tension can also weaken the string. Too bad, itā€™s such a great throw.

I havenā€™t noticed any of those issues with mine. ^^
