YoYoRecreation Appreciation Thread

Axle system here is put in place before casting plastic, making cup surface smooth and also good for horizontal grind. Correct me, but I dont think Yoyojam has any model made this way, Yoyorecreation proces is much more complicated and offers better results.

And even just plastic DIffusion I played was better than any hybrid from Yoyojam.

That edge glow is so good.

@Bina, old school YYJs were over molded. In my engineering opinion I think the YYR approach is a different way to solve the metal threads in plastic problem. It looks good and I’m looking forward to analyzing it closer.

The only problem is, I don’t know which one I like more, green or clear. Also, anyone know any ballpark on specs. I sure hope it’s fairly big and light.

It’s fullsize, but not so wide. Maybe similiar to Laser.

I see in yoyorecreation a steady and continuous decline.
yoyorecreation was the brand that most stood out for their originality, effectiveness and practicality of the shape by drawing a ritch that others tried to follow.
for almost two years I can not see this , they produced a yoyo titanium that in the end nothing can boast with a distribution of material fairly trivial (at a crazy price among other things ) , bimetallic strips that excel for construction but have lines entirely away from those identifying always the brand ( the Draupnir in particular ) .
with the first aeronaut and diffusion after switching from high-performance materials such as plastic or dalrin in brittle materials such as acrylic … and finally the Triad … a bad copy of a yoyojam , both in the positioning of the rings metal ( for this yoyojam has a patent filed… Patent D648,810 ) that the invoice axis (sfx, xlr8, vigilante, surge, ecc. ecc.)
Today yoyorecreation run along roads used by others long ago and I do not like at all.

They are still plastic, acrylic would shatter after hitting ground.

I’ve been fond of YYR for more than 3 years now, and even if I wasn’t sure about their changes at first, they still have my support. I like seeing them evolve. I’d have hated if they had kept to a Stardust design for their throws.

YYR have had my love from the first time I threw my first YYR (a 2012 Clash). I’m with you on not being so sure about these new things they’re trying but every company, no matter how good, has to evolve. And let’s face it, YYR have done just about everything they could possibly do with the Stardust shape.

$70 for a weight ringed plastic! Am I the only one stuck on that price tag…I won’t be buying one new but hope to hear a review soon.

funny enough, when it comes to CLYW for a plastic that doesn’t even involve metal weight rings, it looks more acceptable

Exactly. I feel metal weight rings are a crutch if you’re going for that full plastic feel.
And if you were around CLYW got huge flak about it being $55.

I bought a Yeti, you bought a Yeti and more people are waiting for Yetis.
The world goes round.

Ummm same price as a phenomizm another hybrid yoyo. I don’t see a big deal on cost.

Implying the Phenomizm isn’t overpriced.

After one throw of the Draupnir; how can you possibly feel “metal weight rings are a crutch” or “not being so sure about these new things”? That just does not make sense given the completely new level of performance that is represented by this yoyo.

What logic are you using when you say:

“fairly trivial (at a crazy price among other things ) , bimetallic strips that excel for construction but have lines entirely away from those identifying always the brand”?

Huh? Fairly trivial? What about the incredible increase in yoyo performance? …Brand awareness? This is not BMW.

Given the logic of these statements, we should all be playing wooden Goody yo-yo’s from the '20’s; right? Progress is all about change and trying new ideas. Put me in the progress camp. Nostalgia is for old people and jealous competitors.

I can have my own opinions? Thank you.
I own enough of yyr to appreciate them, but this does not have to be a fanboy at all costs.
progress lies in doing new things, not to copy what others are doing.
Are you already ordered this new yyj? … opsss! yyr! ;D

no

yes master!

From what I heard, Triad should be like plastic Draupnir, so for that reason it has weight rings on top. Should they put in inside, just to be like Yoyofactory instaed of Yoyojam?

And axle system being same to YYJ? So what?? You have to choose some way how to put it together. And in the end you will end up with system from YYj, Duncan/Yoyofactory or will try loosely fitting system that Turning point and One Drop uses. There is just no other way.

Your approach is making no sense, with modern yo-yos every design will be similiar to something else, you just have to pick up brand that does it best. And for me that would be YYR over YYJ every day.

What do you guys think about the new YYR logo? I’m personally not a fan of the new don’t used but was wondering what my other YYR lovers thought.

I’m getting used to it, finally
