I concur. I think the 50-51g on the Workhorse would be Epic.
Not as light as the others for the spin time, but not as heavy either. If that make sense.

I have a few wooden fixies that are 50 grams and they feel good on the end of the string.
Workhorse Update-
A 4mm wide D Bearing will fit without modification.
Running it with Throw Yo Woody Wagon String.
Impressions; 4mm bearing works. Response is snappier. This set up would be ideal for the 0A style of play. Reducing the 1A side of play.
I am enjoying this set up and will keep with it for a little while.
String is awesome.
I think the Yoyo does better for both styles with the 5mm bearing.
It’s awesome you tested that. With that discovered, it seems there is no reason to adjust the post height. Anything with the 3mm bearing and any sort of shim arrangement is just way too responsive for anything. So as is, the setup works for the 5mm that comes in it, a 4mm works to reduce gap width by 1mm, and it works with the D size bearing blank. All with no modifications.
Confirmed!
General vibe I’m getting from the club.
Maybe, just maybe.
Comment on the weight of the Workhorse.
It looks like a lot of us are thinking that the weight should be less, but I think going too low is going to defeat the middle ground between 0A and 1A that (I thought) we were aiming for. Seen someone mention 50g for a weight, which is good for a fixie/0A, but IMO way too light for 1A. I’m just throwing it out there, but I think 53ish would be a good middle ground for both styles of play, while allowing us to give it some more rim weight.
I’ve been avoiding comments on the Workhorse so I can develop my own thoughts on it over the last few days. I can agree though with some of what’s been tossed about. A little less weight, a bit more rim, keep the pads and bearing the same. As it sits, it’s still one of the best modern responsives I’ve gotten a hold of. I wish I still had my Deep State to compare because that was my number one, but the Workhorse has been SLICK.
I love the novelty of the weight rings. I’m hunting down some flexible filament to see if I can print some Layer Infinity style weight rings for it. However, I don’t know if my works 3d printers can handle anything other than PLA since my last project hasn’t panned out. Something is seriously wrong after 5 failed prints. But I’m also a dingus so it could be me.
Open Club Position- Myspace Overwatch
We are looking for a volunteer to maintain/post to our Club media. Guessing this would be a weekly-ish thing. Monitoring and Promoting our Events and Initiatives. Meeting Announcements.
@rkalajian Could you email us the highest quality version you have of the FAF butterfly logo and the throw yo logos yoyoboomerclub@gmail.com
PLA weight rings might flex enough to work. Have you tried it with PLA? Also, what’s going on with your 5 print failures?
I really have no idea and neither does the instructor! It’s crazy! It keep failing mid print. I’ve done a couple of other prints with good success but this one mask is a problem. I don’t know how to operate the printers since they’re not mine so I couldn’t begin to think why it keeps failing.
I do suppose PLA would work fine too! Let’s see if I can resize the rings and maybe ask if he might print a couple when I get back.
That email didn’t work!
I’m silly and messed up I fixed it
Still looking for someone who might be interested in running the club socials part time. It’s not a heavy lift just looking for someone who can check them from time to time and post stuff if it comes up.
I’ll gladly set things up and hand over the keys I just can’t be the one operating it I’ve put on too many hats already.
What platforms?
Most likely just instagram for now maybe Facebook. I’ll leave that up to whoever decides to run it what they think can provide value. YouTube is being run by myself and @Overtinkering for now and G2 is running our discord needs (until we annoy Jake too much and he kicks us out)
After some thought I don’t think the socials we add value to the club for FAF or for anything in the short term but if we get a following using FAF as that initial bump then we can use those platforms to direct folks to causes we care about like toys for tots or future events. I realized long term socials while I don’t care for them might serve a purpose but we can’t start them when we are asking for something we need to start them when we are giving something like with FAF and MRM we are giving away prizes to the community and showing off tricks.
Just my thoughts. But whoever takes the roll I’ll back them up it’s not a solo act nothing is in this club we are all one big team and lean on each other.
Except @Slestak75 (our resident cheerleader) no one can take his job
I can manage Instagram, no problamo.
Well you’re about to get a message with some deets pal. Thank you for stepping up.
