Organic, high wall, thin gap, 54.5mm, unresponsive, raw and at least 1 small defect pls
all of this screams boomer yoyo lol
the silver bullet style responsive would also be a banger
I would work for bourbon but I don’t think I’m near you.
Early in my career I did IT consulting for a tax company and got a tip for getting the tax office setup early in tequila. We would crack the bottle and be trashed by the time we where deploying firewall files and AD policy. Good times. Also used to help the sales folk with the printers and smart phones at a truck company good guys they would tip me in decent scotch and whiskey. I got a marina and a lawn business I help in the side now they pay me in cheap beer. I’m less excited about those but known them for a long time.
Back to yo-yos. A high wall organic with larger response and some sort of schmoove groove sound like a great throw.
I agree a silver bullet style no caps would be really nice too but Tom Kuhn still sells the sb2. Not to say there isn’t room for something similar but different
@Pun1sh3R That’s my contribution. Though it would be nice if it could still be responsive with a dry bearing.
If there is enough interest for both responsive and unresponsive, Jake has said he could do both.
I understand you stated it would be best to do one unresponsive and one responsive, rather than one yoyo that could use seperate bearings, but hear me out.
The OG Moonshine was inspired from the Cherry Bomb. When used with a full size C, it plays like a dream, when used with a slim C, responds perfectly.
Could something like that be filled off with Respawn pads? No idea, the pads might be too grippy with a full size C, you’d definitely have a better idea than me.
As far as colors and finish, hear me out. Back in the day, yoyos were polished. There was a certain elegance to it. The OG 5 star, with that candy apple red and black and white engravings, that thing was more elegant than I can even describe.
Shape? Slim, highwall, organic. Weight? I’d want to loop, so less than a Respawn lite, more than a Weekender?
I don’t believe those light slim yo-yos play well enough as unresponsive. Some ppl do love the respawn set up up responsive, but is a smaller percent.
I think there needs to be 10 plus grams of difference in the two both of them to be optimal
I agree compromise is great but trying to do it all is how you get a bunch of mediocre. I’m a jack of all trades i would know.
Jake, could you achieve the weight distribution by adding a removable O ring for weight when used unresponsive? I am not sure it can be done and still be G2 smooth but it may be a way to achieve making 1 yoyo to be used reaponsive and unresponsive. Also, having a removable O ring screams boomer to me . I have had this thing since i was about 12.
If it has an O ring we could also 3d print caps at that the logo could be a 3d printed cap. However not sure that’s the direction or not. Cool idea though.
Jake did ask about caps so it seems it would be on the table.
Caps could be pretty cool too.
Might as well get it out of the way now, we can’t swirl the boomer yo-yos. Unless it’s engraved.
Responsive for sure.
the relic is starting to look so good!
This is such an awesome idea! Count me in!
The engravings you’ve pulled off are insane. And that prototype there leaves such a beautiful canvas.
