Yep. I’m a yoyo boomer.
There’s definitely some potential here. Higher walls though?
“Unresponsive - organic, higher wall, larger response than 19. Schmoove rings? IRG. Flat size C”
Make it under 55mm diameter and 40mm width and that’s my dream yoyo haha
i wonder what an actual yo-yo boomer would think of today’s yo-yo vs 50-70 years ago

You say “actual” yo-yo Boomer as though you know the real and actual definition. Please enlighten us. As there has been a question of what this really means.
But as a 53 year old who “actually” played with 50ish and a 70ish year old yo-yo’s I can say this. First off todays plastic (not the designs but the actual plastic) pales in comparison to the plastic of old. Many of those old plastic yo-yos are still around and still playing. This new plastic could never hold up that long. Wood yo-yos are practically unchanged. Modern metal yo-yos are awesome. So there is what one yo-yo boomer thinks.
Oh, yeah! This is perfect! The work is done for us. Haha
i simply meant someone who played yo-yo and is born in what society defines as boomer i.e baby boomer.
i didnt mean any offense, just simple curiosity as what that generation thinks of this generation. which you kindly provided, so thank you.
to get this topic back on first posts track, i guess a “YO-YO boomer” is someone who is born in a “yoyo boom” so sign me up.
My dad still has his 70ish year old hand carved wooden Duncan Imperial, though he does not really play. He is not a “play” kind of grumpy old man. I’ve shown him a few of my moderns and he remains unimpressed. But that is just him. I gifted a friend of mine also in his 70s a Deep State and he has absolutely loved it. My apologies for coming across defensive. I’m only 3 sips in to my first coffee of the day if that counts for anything.
I’m in for a proto if one is made. I like the idea of engraving, personally - gives me a nostalgic feeling of when you would carve/engrave initials in a heart on the trunk of a tree somewhere.
To be honest, I’ve seen the way that Jake works on stuff, and I would trust his initial feeling about what would work. He tends to knock it out of the park (I swear, I’m not sponsored by him), while being practical, but doesn’t shy away from having to deliver tough news when he needs to…
Any way you slice it, I’m in, and looking forward to it.
Alright who wants on the committee?
What would you need from a committee member? And what is a good number of committee members?
Ill help out in anywyay I can
2-3. Help in translating what they think the club wants. Looping club in on the progress as well
So @MattC has volunteered his services. Any other volunteers to be on the committee? And if anyone else has further ideas of what they’d like to see in a responsive throw as well as an unresponsive throw, please add a comment so that the committee has ample input to discern what the club might be looking for.
I can help from the Logistics and Communication side.
Might be able to supply a opinion or two.
With 2 Models on the Drawing Board, I think we need at least a Volunteer from each camp;
Responsive,
Unresponsive
If you can speak to both, Great.
There’s 2.
