oh then I might do it I have been noticing my buys have been impulsive lately and considering on slowing down a little.
Whats happening these days XD…
Never got that summit for painting :-\
everything is happening for me! and I’m busy with starting to get ready for a competition. being a 4-H secretary for my club since last night, homework, tests coming up. and planning my birthday party for a bonfire I’m really busy.
Do any of you watch Shark Tank?
Lol, I can’t tell you how many times people have said “you should be on shark tank!”, haha, me googling it was inevitable
I’m watching it right now. It’s a great show.
Nice! It doesn’t happen to be on Netflix does it?
I don’t know. My family just watches it every Friday at 9 PM ET on ABC.
no but I want to. But I never get to watch what I want to do because my younger siblings always get priority over stuff.
I’m the secretary for my 4-H club.
Cool what 4-H club are you in? I’m the secretary for bulls eye 4-H aka the biggest club in our county.
I did 4-h…
Palo cedro.
I’ve got a question for Legyoyo. I always wondered what’s the difference between a “holder” and a “holster,” or if it’s just a different way to say the same thing. I use “holder,” but debated about using “holster” in the beginning. How did you decide on the word “holster?” Do you view the definitions differently, or the same? I’m still sorting this one out. :-\
Haha, awesome!
Though it’s interesting you bring it up! I actually was wondering if anyone would ask this when I first decided on it, because it’s so subtle
Well, I chose holster mainly for 2 reasons:
- Holsters are cool! When you hear “holster” it’s normally about a gun. Which, lets be honest, is pretty darn sweet to have in a “holster”. So it’s a manner of it being an item that’s cool enough, and makes sense to have on hand. Thus making it worthy of the title “holster”. A “yoyo holster”
Also 2.
Because when I looked around the holder market. I saw a lot of the same. Not to insult any of the holders out there, they functioned fine I’m sure. But most of them were very similar, or had very little “pizaz” (or too expansive for my no income [non existent] job :D). And to me they lacked a “character”. So when I started making them, to me, mine were special, and I wanted to set them apart from the rest… Therefore “holder” was “upgraded” and called “holster”
And I don’t mean to brag or anything, or even demean other products because they’re called holders and not holsters, haha. I just wanted mine to be different and unique, and the name “Legyoyo Holsters” remembered
*TA, your holsters fell in the “too expensive for me” category. I actually wanted one when my YYF holder bit the dust, but didn’t have the money to get it
I agree TAs holsters are a bit spendy but they look so awesome that Im considering getting one anyways
And once you factor in the cost of materials and the work thats put in it $25-$30 is a pretty resonable price
I bet the holsters are worth every penny!
Yeah, they’re not overpriced, but I just didn’t have the cash, haha
Especially for what they are, and Mr. Andres wholesale… so it’s all good (and reasonable)
And Like I said, not downgrading anyone else’s product, just adding mine to the table
Yup!
Thanks Legyoyo and Erik for putting some thought into this whole holder vs. holster thing. I just went with the typical, but a few people around me were calling them “holsters” so I considered it for awhile. I shoot pretty often, and use a real gun, so “holster” to me just didn’t seem to quite fit with the yo-yo thing. But, giving it some more thought, it sounds pretty cool. I agree that Legyoyo using “holster” was a good idea to differentiate from everything else.
My holders are in the “upscale” for holders, mostly because they are a leather product, and the whole brass/nickel vibe and all that. For what they are, we are offering them at a very reasonable price. Many people don’t know about my guarantee, but with the guarantee I offer, if you buy one of my holders, it’s good for a lifetime. If you wear the heck out of it and wear the spring out in the trigger, or anything happens to it due to wear and tear, I’ll repair or replace. I just want the old holder back, and you get the same color that you had. So, after doing this a year and a half, I haven’t had to fix or replace anything. It shows me that I’m where I want to be in terms of offering something of quality that will last. If anyone wants to send the holder to me to be cleaned/conditioned I will do that too. Leather products in general are more expensive, but it depends on the particular “look” you’re after whether it is worth it. I’m kinda old, so I just didn’t think the other holders fit my vibe that well, so I wanted to offer something for a new demographic.
Legyoyo and I are cool and work together, because at the end of the day, some days you wear a T-Shirt, some days you wear a sweatshirt, some days a button down, a polo, a sweater and so on. It’s the same with holders/holsters. So, you should have a look that matches what you are doing on a given day. Someone can own my holder and Legyoyo’s holster and wear them on different days if that’s what they want to do. It makes sense in the rest of life…and the same for anything else you wear. It’s like sometimes you might want to throw a plastic, sometimes a metal…maybe wood. I see holders the same way.
In my mind, the only yoyo worthy of a ‘holster’ is the Pistolero.
