So the deal worked out after all? Sounds good.
Ok Thanks for letting me know
Just messaged TA about some super secret stuff
Whats the secret?
super
Haha…just got back to you about it. Sorry for the delay, I was at Throwdown contest YYE was having. I’m just now getting caught up on PMs. Very happy about this secret we are cooking up. We will be able to announce it shortly. This thread is too much fun.
By the way, I thought of re-naming the thread “Entrepreneurs of YoyoExpert.” I mean…I’m not young. A few other people on the forum are not either, but they are in business. But, I decided to leave it as is, because I’m young at heart. We all have to be young at heart to love yo-yos.
I’m happy that BC brought in a few sales, and at this stage he has surpassed what was invested in the materials. With patience, I think he is on his way to something great too.
I know there are some people who have products that are not sold in a store, who are considering perhaps going that route. If I had to sum up the experience, it would be this:
You have to weigh what benefits you the most for your business. Some people like to keep things small, not share in their profits, and pace themselves as they go along. Those are people who usually prefer to work independently and sell direct. They can often offer a lower price to customers, and keep more profits for themselves by operating that way.
Others like to take advantage of sharing profits. While they will be getting less money per item, they will also be able to take advantage of the potential higher volume of sales. That could mean more money in the long run. There is some pressure to keep up with sales activity though. If you are selling a lot, you have to restock in a timely fashion. Also, a store may want to specify which colors or versions of your items they want to carry. You also generally don’t work as hard to market the product, because part of the profits you share with a store, are shared so that the work promoting the product is also a shared effort. A relationship with a store can be great, if you choose the store that is right for your product, and you have a great understanding of how things will work.
For me, it has worked great. I ran a few contests at the initial release of my holders, but from that point, with YYE promoting them on Facebook and Instagram and such, I knew people were aware of the product. From there, I decided to let word of mouth work for them, as the first run sold, and let people decide for themselves if they wanted to try them. While I could push them far more, it has benefited me to remain at the current pace.
I like the new manufacturer section, and I will be starting a new thread there. It will give me an opportunity to showcase some of the more customized work I have been doing. I plan to be busier with the holders in the near future.
Well, TA, you got the manufacturer title…
Yep! I got more than its worth (And a TON of white left over…)
I did this-
$## worth+a chance to be on YYE :).
Sounds good to me ;)…
Yes, it appears that in order to post in that section, the title comes with the privilege. I’m preparing some new photos to post in that thread…should be fun.
You have a lot of white paracord left over. Will you buy different color paracord when you run out? Or will you stick to YYE colors?
Not sure :-\
Well the LxTA collab paracord holder just dropped. We had a lot of fun coming up with it. It is a Legyoyo Holster design, and I chose the trigger snap and the colors for this edition, and hand picked the paracord for use with the design. I’m very happy with the way it turned out, and it has been a pleasure working with Legyoyo on the project. I’m waiting for my personal holders in the mail, and when they arrive, I will take some photos for my feed and make the Instagram announcement. It works well this way, because we don’t want everyone to get hit with the info all at the same time…as marketing works well in waves. Legyoyo is working the BST, and when I get mine, I will make an Instagram announcement as well.
In fact, he sold at least one already. ;D
That holster looks nice (I wish MyMom Would Let Me Buy Stuff Like This)
That holster looks great hopefully I can get some money from my birthday so I can buy it!
Thanks guys! I love the design as well , and may need to get one from myself XD
But remember, first run is 10, and 2 are gone and 3 more are being looked at! so as soon as you can would the best time!
Wow the first run is small lemme know when the 2nd rum will star or something.
Oh snap! Are they clamoring for more already Legyoyo? ;D Perhaps Legyoyo and I will discuss a part 2, if these do well. He has so many great designs and colors to choose from, that I figured these might stick around a bit. I’m happy to see that they might go rather quickly.
yeah well I’m just using logic which is all o it will be sold out by next week when I’m going to buy it.
What is my logic wrong?
I still have some! Your Bday is still possible! (And maybe some “layaway” is in order ;))
that’s a thing? layaway? i thought that was for only k mart not other holsters two!
From my understand, it’s just setting one aside for someone until they can pay. That’s what I meant, but my definition may be off. But that’s what I was implying, so if you want to, we can work it out
