Wood is Good

No-Jive man. If you don’t have one you gotta get one. Just about every part of it is replaceable too so it’ll last you a lifetime.

Yup. People have been using them for almost 40 years. I think it is the one yoyo everybody should own. The one I have was made in the 1980s, and I use it daily.

if not, just about any TMBR also will work.

Thanks guys! How is it different though? Like I see in videos it stops and brain explodes

I love my Lovejoy. I just landed three Hidemasa hooks with flyaway returns consecutively with it. Type 10 cotton on a walnut axle. Wood is good when it isn’t smashing your hands and face.

I wish I was having that luck last night. Red knuckles this morning.

lots of floppage. zero jive.

Ed,

I hate you in the best way possible.

I will do a flop one day. Oh yes, I will.

And this is my trick of the week… must learn to flop.

Too many failed tires here.

Sad day at work. I forgot to bring a spare!

This is why I spent almost an hour to make 20 strings and take them every where my yoyo goes.

Thanks Ed

High 5!

I have been laying with UFO regens from stalls. It is kind of fun to launch the UFO and also I like the tension benefits.

I have been working it in to finish of tricks when I don’t have enough spin for a full return.

So these have been kicking my butt lately.  May not be throwing hard enough, once I slack the string to start the gyro my no jive comes to a sudden stop.

How much vibe is considered “acceptable” when it comes to wooden fixed axles? say a vibey yoyo has “ghost” effect that you can tell visually how far off is it? For example a yoyo X has about 1mm “ghost” offset.
I know wood are not consistent, but just how much inconsistency is there usually (I mean with name brand fixies)?

my no jive and eh are dead smooth, was a bit surprised myself.

Actually, my daily 14 Eh is pretty vibey now, trying to figure out how to tune it.

Have you done anything to it? Is it still stock? Any damage to the axle?

I’ve hit mine a few times and swore there was going to be a piece missing from it, few dings here and there but no major damage and is still smooooth.
