Wood is Good

Love Joy came in the mail today. Spent most of the day working on stalls. Love the yoyo and getting the feel for wood and the timing that comes along with it. This thread is a great resource thanks everyone and happy throwing.

Purple Heart

Awesome. Great looking grain and feel on the purpleheart! That thing is solid as can be and unforgiving on knuckle busts. Be aware, but mostly have fun! That’s a great throw.

Should I get a Lovejoy or a Baldwin for my first wooden throw you guys?

Both are great. The Baldwin can be unscrewed pretty easily to help with knots.

The Sullivan and Moxon by TMBR are also great wood throws.

LoveJoy can too ;D I really love and enjoy it.

I have a Sullivan on the way. Really looking forward to it

I have a Baldwin and I like it, but, I have only heard good about all of TMBR’s throws. My guess is you will be happy with the Baldwin or Love Joy or any other TMBR you select.

Oh yeah and the Lovejoy specs don’t seem to show up on the site. Does anyone have em?

I have wonder the same thing. I hope someone out there has them.

So I don’t know if you noticed , but on one of Ed’s latest videos, he’s wearing a totally cool TK shirt with a single hexagon and the typical TK logo. I want one of those shirts. Is that design available (he said winking at the procurement department at YYE)?

Those usually go $75-150 depending on condition. Generally a great score and a classic from tk’s San Francisco workshop era. Super cool.

ik nothing on fixed, how could you last a year doing it?

P.S what’s a good starter fixed axle yoyo.

Get a No-Jive. They’re great. Just look at the things Ed does with them!

Really good, but more than a starter yoyo.  It’ll take you a long way.

Any others?
