The Unholy’s finish is absolutely insane.

I had my YWET on me today (along w a black No Jive)! Epic take-anywhere throw and very grail-worthy. <|3

Keep in mind though, whatever yo-yo you hope someday to have… develop yourself and try to play as though IT should be seeking YOU. Then it really won’t matter when or whether you meet up. If ever you do, it won’t be some vaunted relic of which you’re unworthy - it’ll be like meeting an old friend on the road even though you never met.

Man, I’ve been jealous of your collection for years, you’ve got some awesome stuff!
(I really like the dinosaur painted freehand from your video “tricks I filmed to remember”)

That’s a good way to look at a grail yo-yo… perhaps there is a Freehand MG and a YWET staring at a map confused, somewhere in, maybe Kansas, trying to figure out how to get to my Idaho home… yeah, that’s a pleasant thought… you may have brought me peace yet, Ed!

Also, wow. I go throw axes with my Dad for 2 hours, and this thread is more active than ever!

WOW… Well you def brought me NOSTALGIA, yet.
I had to go looking for that one as (ironically) I had zero memory of it. Do still remember some of those tricks though! Haha thx dude! Also, amusing to know 15 years ago I was also forgetting bearing tricks “on account of so much fixed axle” lol.

No problem Ed! I like watching your old videos from when you were on Team SPYY, your 0A is my favorite, but your 1A is incredibly unique!

P.S. I know I’m late, but congratulations on the weight loss, man! I could use to gain some pounds myself… (6’3”, 116 pounds.)

Ooh! I forgot! I’m getting a No Jive from my brother soon. I’m very excited to throw it! I’m getting it as a birthday present. (Just turned 15, haha)

Mg reaches over and grabs YWET by his orange rim, just over the ding he got the day Ed Haponik dropped him, while shredding his onewheel to the beach for a surf session with all the yoyo greats, “you feel that?”

YWET, shifting his gaze from the map, trembling, surprised and excited—and too many emotions at once—YWET’s eyes lock onto Mg’s, full of shock and disbelief, “…a kickflip…”

They both start running

This isn’t a grail so much, but I really want an organic with a schmoove. I’ve used one, (can’t remember the model) but I don’t have one. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Man, trick names were so cool back then.

I have some tricks that need naming and there is some great inspiration in here!

My personal favorite is: “Mastodon VS. Snuffleupagus”

@edhaponik I have an unnamed trick— do I have permission to name it “Snuffleupagus - 1 - Mastodon - 0”? Here, I’ll get a video of it later and you can approve/disapprove.

That one was definitely my favorite too!

I also like shoddy waynescotting and plush safe he thinks. I don’t get the references, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate their genius.

The Northstar Jensen used to win worlds:

^
The one from this video, that got chucked into a river.

This freestyle was the first yoyo freestyle I ever watched (I was 8, now I’m 17), and has always been my favorite. I really really want that specific northstar, but it probably doesn’t exist anymore.

Honorable mentions:
Mustang OG, “The Works” Peak.

It looks like he missed the River…

Nothing super special in any way but to me the
Mardi Gras Parlay just beautiful.
Once I saw it on an old release photo I searched for about 2 years and it was well worth the endeavor.
I pick up the Mardi Gras Parlay for a few spins when I have learned new trick or on special occasions like my birthday. It brings me pure joy.

Flip side

I am a sucker for those OG splashes

Sorry, it’s called “Left Behind”, not “the works”. Somehow messed up my memory
