Finally got a replacement for the Dif-e-yo Rev-1 Overhaul that I gave away a while back. I’ve been playing it for a couple of days and I’m tired, really tired. This yoyo is so much fun that it’s hard to stop but what even makes it tougher is that it never quits spinning. That’s right never. I finish my most awesome bad boy combo and ……………it’s spinning fast, like let’s go! So I go and I throw another long combo and it’s still spinning. Finally I have to bind just to catch my breath. I’m really dismayed, I thought I was in way better shape.
Gotta build up my endurance, my repertoire, my trick execution and outlast this yoyo.
I picked up a Dif-e-yo Tank a bit ago. It was a steal for a new throw, under $40. Although I only started throwing unresponsive two and a half years ago, Dif-e-yo is in the top tier of my favorite brands, with their Gladiator Slave being one of my favorite throws. As I understand it, they were one of the high flying brands back in the Hey day of yoyoing.
Just to add a bit about this yoyo: I went mountain biking yesterday, placed the overhaul in my pocket or pouch, and the inevitable happened I launched my bike and crashed. When I regained consciousness, I sat up and slowly got my bearings, there where two overhauls laying in the rocks covered with dirt. Well there really was one but in my condition there were two, lol. I picked it up and found my way to back to civilization.
Today I cleaned the yoyo off and threw it, the best I can throw in this condition, and it doesn’t appear to have a scratch a vibe, or any adverse characteristics from the wreck! Don’t ask me what it hit or bounced off of, I can’t remember a good part of the ride yesterday. Anyway, I thought it was pretty amazing the yo was unscathed. Tough anno, tough yoyo for sure!
You’ll be glad to know, the bike is in perfect condition as well. (well there is a torn grip but…phtt)
I’m okay, vision has cleared today but I’ll be dealing with a lot of rib issues, cuts and bruises shoulder to waist, and some deep bruising in my left glut. But all is good! thanks
I actually picked the yoyo up after the crash and cleaned it off today. Yesterday I didn’t even know initially where I was lol.
Pay attention to your head. You lost consciousness, and a head injury can be serious business. I had aTBI several years. Took over two years to heal, and my brains were so scrambled it wasn’t figured out right away. If you notice you are having confusion, or forgetting things you normally know well, like say your address, or names and/or faces of close friends, confuse people, anything that seems amiss, go get checked out. The sooner you discover anything wrong the better for recovery, not to mention your sanity. What kind of bike do you have. Pics?
I’ve really been enjoying the overhaul and even though I had one years back, I’m loving it.
The anno on this thing is so tough! I’ve started learning more about anodizing and I understand better why this ano is superior to others.
It’s like having four old friends show up on your doorstep, the O-rings switch quickly and make such a difference. It’s like I have purchased four different yoyos!
Older yoyos can still be amazing. I’ve already enjoyed the Dif R-1 Overhaul more than many of my latest model yoyo purchases. If you have ever been interested in this yoyo, you should really get one if you happen to find one that’s available.
I have not played the GTO, Gladiator, or IT. I sure would like to try them though.
When I ordered my first Dif, I mistakenly ordered a Tank and a Crossbones! It was amazing that I hadn’t mistakenly just ordered two of the same lol. Funny how things work sometimes.
