Nah what I’m talking about are response pads like IR pads & katana that have a huge marginal price to quantity ratio compared to other ones. I wouldn’t pay $2 for 2 amazing response pads when I could pay $5 for 12 magicyoyo ones which still play great.
$3 for a pair that will last a few weeks(and that is not being generous) of heavy play sounds pretty ok to me
Again, I didn’t know $3 was a fortune.
I know, but I’d rather spend $5 for 12 pads that also last for weeks
Idk guys I buy Hellmann’s mayonnaise. Also my pads last far longer than a couple weeks. Maybe I don’t throw enough. I honestly prefer pads that are a few weeks old.
■■■■, my pads last months at a time. I’ve had the same snow tires in avalanche for like 8 years . I use it often
Yeah I said a few weeks was not being generous.
Pads should really only burn out within a few weeks if you’re playing the same yoyo for hours and hours everyday.
Flowable on the other hand…
flowable in my experience has been pretty trash (I think it was due to the brand I chose)
im sorry

IMHO…
All non-green yoyos spin 19% less long than green throws and are 81% less enjoyably to throw than green yos.
IMO.
Can confirm after rigorous testing… however, I seem to have lost the documentation… you’ll just have to take our word for it.
Boutique poly is just bulk poly with more color options
Nylon is the best string.
There are too many yo-yo companies. Fight me.
You’re the best string
That’s a super popular opinion man
NOT ENOUGH
Some of it can be, but some stuff definitely lasts longer and feels better than generic string like Kitty or Vines.
As for the too many yoyo companies comment, yea, kind of. The market is really saturated at the moment. But as a consumer I like it. The many options are what makes this hobby so interesting, though when you see those “what yoyo should I buy?” threads you realize how daunting it can be. But if you collect for value, I guess the saturated market can be a downside. Heck, at least we arent sitting here saying “I wish people would make more unique yoyos”.
Just recently tried nylon for the first time. It’s some One Drop poly/nylon blend and it pretty much instantly became my favorite string I’ve tried so far.
Someday I’d like to try some pure nylon string.
I like nylon a lot, but sometimes I just need the authentic poly feel. Nylon can be too slippery and bouncy at times for what I want the string to feel like. I’d honestly never string up all my yoyos with the same string type. I need some cotton for my fixies atm as well, even if bulk poly is serviceable (dont want to gunk up my axles with the burn). All string types can be good imo.
The best nylon/poly blend string I’ve ever tried is, hands down, Chad’s performance blend. I hope he needs $ for a new yoyo soon so I can get some more of it from him…
