The World Yo-Yo Contest 2015 Mega-Thread

I hope Ando makes it through to semis, I’d really be interested in seeing a new freestyle from him.

Tatsuya is also one of my favourite players, so regardless of how well he does, I’ll be looking forward to that performance.

This man speaks the truth. With so many amazing new releases from so many companies, I’d have to take out a loan to buy them all and hire a pickup truck to get them all back to my hotel. That being said, the one I want the most is a C3 Move. Just looks like so much fun fingerspinning all day long.

Sad, sad days :frowning:

SURPRISE! John Ando is not even on the 169 player list there. Did he not compete?

Vashek missed out by 0.5 points?! NOoooooOOoOooOo!!! goes into mourning :-[

So we’ve lost:

Eric Koloski
Vashek
Mimi Thian
Tessa Piccillo

In other words… everyone I was cheering on. I think I may be cursed. Eric I’m so sorry. :frowning:

I can’t help but look at last place and think “what exactly do you have to do to get a score of 3?”…

Was thinking the same thing about the 3 Points.

Trapeze?

What I want to know is: Where is John Ando? I am guessing he did not compete.

No, the total score was neutralized so it’s not the amount of clicks. He most likely messed up too bad that he had so many negative points (he might even have negative total score). Positive points minus negative points, then normalized with everyone else.
Also, it’s a shame that many great players didn’t get to finals… I mean, why Tessa…

And this is only wildcard. The disappointment has only begun…

Because Eric didn’t makeit  , I’m going to change my 1A prediction to Bergy.

I just checked, he was in the WildCards order, for sure. It’s on the site. But when I looked at the results, he wasn’t there! D:

I can so relate to this. I’m left with only Kento Muraoka making it to the prelims!

I thinik the reason it s tough this year is because its in Japan. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m just really hoping that someone from America wins the 1a division this year.

That’s bad about hearing about vashek.

Was he using a vkss?

Wildcard is unpredictable. It’s so short that if you aren’t clean, you are pretty much out of the running. That’s why someone who would usually do quite well in finals doesn’t even make it to prelims. Prelims and semi-finals are also unpredictable, just not as much as wildcard. I’m honestly not really expecting Janos to make it to finals, because he is usually not clean enough to do well in a 1.5 minute round.

I might have to live-stream this one.

Look guys.
Pon made it, and Shingo Terada is less than 2 points behind. Hmmm… Too bad Eiji didn’t make it :frowning:

Ginji Miura is competing. yay. Bryan Jardin and Ryota Torigoe are competing as well. YES. Does anybody know if Sean Perez is competing?

I want to see so many freestyles. So many players to watch.

1a Lori yamaki
2a shu takada
3a hajime
4a rei iwakira
5a takeshi matsura

I would like to see Hiroyuki Suzuki win though…

deep down, I wanted jensen to hop in as a big suprise
I want zach or paul to win 1a
