^ same here
I actually never had a problem with spacers. So yetis good in my book.
Canāt wait to get my hands on one. So much want.
Iām not going to buy a yeti straight away (I will wait for some reviews first)
But I see no reason why it wonāt be worth the $45 (or $60 depending on how you look at it) price tag.
CLYW has put a lot of investment into the machinery for the injection molding and they need to get there money back before they can start making a profit.
Also lets keep in mind that this is a plastic/glass combo, so it will have more weight (and presumably cost more) than say a YYJ Classic.
Iāve played with the Yeti ONLY since Iāve received it. Iāve got a lot of other throws ādemanding attentionā but honestly I canāt put this down. You want this. And you want to buy one new
thatās what I want to here! Oh and guys who are skeptical about the glass filled plastic, I think some sort of glass filled nylon.
I cannot wait to pick up a yeti at worlds! I am so stoked, how many are you guys bringing? Because I want to make sure I get one before it runs out! Also, what other clywās will you guys have for sale at worlds?
I donāt think Chris will be at Worlds. Yetiās will be released the last day of Worlds at the ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā Booth and Iām assuming theyāll have other CLYW too.
Hah, everyone complaininā about the YYF spacersā¦ Theyāre just spacers. So what if you gotta use a butter knife to pry the bearing of the spacerā¦ Atleast you know the yoyo will spin butter smooth with a tight bearing seat.
Chris, Iām sure later down the road OD would be more than welcome to make those spacers.
Why, Alex? Theyāre just spacers. Quit pimping OD over here if all spacers are just spacers.
Oh hey, somebody who has never had to remove a YYF spacer from a bearing.
Iām just sayingā¦ If that was to effect the sales in the future. Sorry for my āpimpingāā¦ Just tryinā to keep the hand strong, ya know. (Thatās a joke, take it lightly)
Iām going to get a Yeti, or 4. They seem like they play like a beast.
Iāve removed plenty from all my friend Byron s YYFās. Yeah, a little bit of a pain, but nothing to make or break the yoyo, really.
Carry onā¦
Iām no expert or anything, but I would bet every single thing I own that the first run of the Yeti will sell out relatively quickly for something thatās mass produced. Tight spacers or not. I donāt know what will constitute a success with this project, but Iām fairly confident that the 1,000 or more from the first run will sell no problem. After that, people will want new colors and less tight fitting spacers so the 2nd run should do well also. I donāt have anything tied up into the outcome of this venture so itās easier for me to say what I think will happen. I hope everything goes well with the Yeti for the sake of you, your company, and the yoyo community. Yoyofactory has had major success using those spacers with their plastics, so itās reasonable to believe that CLYW will have similar results. From an outsider looking in it seems like the Yeti will be a success.
^ This.
Because of the price I donāt think thereāll be any problem selling these bad boys out. Any throw under $50 that comes out from a company that I like I just buy for the sake of it, so Iām gonna grab a Yeti for sure. =)
I feel like theyāll have trouble selling more than a couple hundred, just based off of the rally. I feel like most people would rather spend 45$ on a Rally than a Yeti; I know that if both yoyos were released from the same company, the rally would seem like a better deal. And the Rally still hasnāt sold out its run of 200.
Then again, when you look at trade value of the original Project vs. the Peakā¦ maybe CLYW can sell tons more.
I am pretty sure there were 500 rally in the initial run.
Yupp and very few places still have them in stock. They sold very quickly. I Think the Yeti will sell just as well.
Also whoever said they should get the spacers from OD, that would raise the price significantly. From what Iāve heard the charge $10 for a set of spacer and I bet YYF Spacer cost something like $1 or $2 a set. I donāt think anyone wants to see a $60 Yeti.

Wait, isnāt that what weāre seeing already? I canāt remember the pricing anymore. Donāt want to get everyone upset or anything, just trying to rememberā¦

Yes and no.
The logic is: $40-45 for the return-top, and another $15-ish for shipping = $60.
That being saidā¦ the actual yoyo itself is still only going to be $40-45ish.
Aka $60 for a yeti
