My Protostar has itās spacers pretty much glued to the bearing, it was so tight that I gave up on trying to pry them apart with pins and needles and just assembled it back as it was.
Excuse me? Theyāre spacers, donāt get all high and mighty on us, saying you know better than other people. Theyāre only there to give the bearing something to spin around. And YYF makes 'em too darn tight.
That pin video they posted a while back is bull, Iāve gotta wiggle a knife between those spacers and the bearing to get it off when theyāre stuck.
The YYF spacers were available and they work great for our application.
Unfortunately I invested too much into this project (20K+) to try to find a company to make them locally. It would have costed me a fortune to compete with local oil field machine shops.
The YYF spacers we did our testing with worked great, they had a slip bearing fit and I was very happy. Unfortunately the 1000s I received have a tight bearing fit. Which most of you guys are complaining about on here.
The first release will have the tight spacers, but Iāll make sure they all have an extra set of spacers just in case.
Iām working towards getting ones that have a lighter slip fit ā¦
I took a big chance here with making a plastic. Basically if this project fails, Iām going back to work and CLYW will just be a fun hobby thing for me. Sad, but true.
Iām sure it wonāt fail Chris you have one of the most loved companies in the world! I plan on buying 2 ANy chance of different colored stickers on the release?
We wonāt have different coloured stickers until this project gets rolling further along. Minimum order quantity (MOQ) is super high and spendy, since weāre using fancy 3M control panel type stickers.
Iām going to have to buy my Summit first XD But Iām still supporting CLYW so I donāt feel bad about waiting a bit to buy the Yeti (just an extra month or two).
I know Iām gonna be buying 2 Yeti. The spacers arenāt my favorite, but that is such a small issue itās not something that is going to prevent me from buying the Yeti.
