I think the price of $45 for it is overpriced and many would agree. If it was 20-30 then I could see it being reasonably priced but at $45 that’s too much. Might as well get a machined Delrin yoyo for that. You keep saying they use this special plastic that is more expensive. If I knew the plasti I could research and see how much of a difference it really is. I highly doubt they’ll drop the price. These things are gonna sell out even being overpriced because of the hype and fanboys. Why would he then raise the price when everyone uses the excuse that its his full time job and he has to put food on the table? Why not keep the price low in the first place and make multiple runs to make all this money.
What is ironic here? Mikers made a comment about deadly spins in that thread that i took offense too and that’s when I defended them. I never brought them up.
Would CLYW or someone who knows actually chime in on the material of the yeti? People are saying its a special plastic with glass in it but what exactly is it? Is it polycarbonate or something else?
Where do you see me bash the company? Because I did no such thing. I said it was overpriced, which is an opinion and not really bashing them. I said multiple times they make good yoyos and they play great but I don’t agree with the raised and in MY opinion overpriced yoyos. Doesn’t mean they’re bad yoyos or a bad company. As far as business they got it down pact since they can basically sell for whatever they want and all the fanboys will still buy them all. I enjoy my wooly markmont and I enjoy Pre-chief CLYW’s and the company before Chris made the chief and quit his job. Once those prices skyrocketed I was over it.
I think the yeti looks cool, although I hate it in black. I probably would like this yoyo and probably would want this over a rally based on my preferences. However the price is the only thing that will keep me from getting it. Can I afford it, yes. I however fail to see the price being justified and worth the price. If people say Chris said he will lower the prices after the first run (which I highly doubt he will) then I will be waiting to find one. I won’t buy one new but I may bst one if I find one for a price I feel it’s worth.
You’re basically trying to make CLYW seem bad. If you think that CLYW throws aren’t worth what Chris sells them for, then don’t buy them.
It’s not very respectful of other companies to whine about their prices on their own thread.
And, when people have anything even remotely negative to say on the Deadly Spins thread, you react the same way all of us do when you come and insult CLYW
You certainly don’t paint a very good image for Deadly Spins.
Not to mention you own multiple YYR, which are often equally, if not more, expensive than CLYW.
Me posting isn’t on deadly spins behalf. Being a human I am entitled to my opinion and no one can take that away from you. I own YYR but they are all from the sales or mystery boxes. Which means I got two YYR throws for the price of a single CLYW. That’s worth it in my book. Regarding if you don like the price don’t buy it, I’ve stated many time I won’t be buying one. Go take a read and know what I said. From what I can tell the yeti is made of polycarbonate but a special kind with glass. Not sure exactly but the info around is pretty vague so I don’t know what it is exactly.
