Glad you’re liking them! I’m 6’1 which is why I make them so long, I’d rather people have to cut some off than have them be too short.

I totally agree with the folks saying it depends on the throw. Especially when you get into different kinds of play. I use my own strings on most throws, probably about 50/50 which throws get Slicc or Plushh, almost always Goldilocks thickness. But on my RCS Loonie, I use Slimm because it snags if I use standard thickness. On my TMBR fixed-axle, I use Zipline kot-n or Zeekio cotton. Even two throws with the same gap can feel different if the pads are thicker on one, for example.

That’s my kind of night :+1:

These are currently my favorites

Zipline smoothies are super soft but are normal thickness. I would prefer thicker but it’s great for smaller gaps.
YYSL Kapow, Plutonium, Ammo. All good and thick.
Bad Wolfe Competition Dummy Thicc, and my personal favorite Daffodil Daydream Dummy Thicc, feels so soft, like nothing else but it really needs a big gap.

Lately I’ve been using 2 string types. YYSL Ammo for my responsive yoyos, and Zipline/Sochi Alphaline for my unrepsonsive yoyos.

Markmont dragons are by far my favorite strings, with his amy blend going on responsives. I’ve never tried the old version under the Toxic Strings brand, but I love how stiff and textured dragon is. It makes me feel like I have so much more control over the string. Amy has just a tiny bit of that textured tactile feel while being very soft.

Are these the Toxic Strings you are referring to? Codinghorror sent me these in 2018 and I haven’t used them all yet.

I don’t know anything about the other blends that Toxic Strings made, unfortunately. I only know that Toxic Strings created the original Markmont dragons, and the ones being sold now under Markmont’s brand use the same formula.

Out of that list, I also enjoyed YYSL the most. But once I tried airetic, I couldn’t use anything but nylon string. But airetic doesn’t make string anymore so now I use bad Wolfe co. nylon strings. It’s smoother and more whippy than poly. Mfd vines seem pretty good for 2a.

Those YYSL labels inside the tubes and bag are actually stickers. I just discovered this yesterday so super excited to share.

Those are of the same brand, they are just a different blend.
The Great Whites are my “Go To” string along with the B.G.1.'s.
The Dragons round out the three strings from Toxic that made them my all time favorite.

I’d really like to hear what you think of them if you ever try them out.

I am going to try some of the legit strings. Just order several. I also have some from Badwolfe on the way. Can’t have too many strings.

Thank you.

I’ve loved Dragon’s from the git. Literally transformed my whip game. Had to slow them down. Easy double whips from struggles to land a single.

If you make string, try a full mix of Coats Dual Duty XP. Japanese thread Pixelles Signature was almost spot on duplicate, just a touch softer.

I’m glad you are giving him a shot! His product deserves more attention

If I wanted something even slightly thicker than Kitty Fat but the same length (and lasts longer), would YYSL Plutonium be a good route to go? Any other recommendations for some THICK long string that almost has a… waxy… feel to it?

Twisted Thick or Extra Thick

I would definitely give plutonium a try!
