Baseball game Tuesday night - Evan throwing first pitch!
Just bought my ticket I’ll be there on Friday! I’ll try to make it to the meet up with all of you guys. Do we think the supplies on the pins and wooden yoyo’s will holdout until then?
If someone wants to grab an extra pair of stickers for me, I’ll paypal you 2 bucks lol
Atl club people?
I’d love a patch and a couple stickers if anyone wants to snag some for me. I’ll pay for the goods and shipping to AZ
Am I seeing correctly that the bus and train trip to the venue from the airport is now 1 hr 20 min?
Unfortunately, yes.
There’s a bunch of construction happening that has interrupted service between the airport and the venue, so now instead of a train straight from baggage claim to the contest in about 30-40 minutes it’s a bus to a train stop and then a train to the contest and it takes a little over an hour.
It’s still the cheapest way to go, but definitely not the quickest. Taking a Lyft should be about $20-$25 and will only take about 25 minutes.
Tickets bought!
Flight booked!
AirBnB confirmed!
All I have left to do is decide what Yoyo’s to bring for “contest carry”.
I’m really excited about meeting ALL OF YOU!
Friendly reminder: You have four days to upload your music. After that it’s a $50 late fee.
The 2019 World YoYo Contest will be streamed live on August 8, 9, and 10. Players and fans not in attendance will be able to watch the entire event on the device of their choice. Live commentary for Semi-Finals and Finals will be provided by Scales Collective, and viewers will have the option to watch with or without commentary.
This year the live stream will be administered by the US National YoYo League through YoYoContest.com, and there will be a small fee of $5 to watch the stream. This is a one-time fee to watch the entire 2019 event for all three days of the stream.
Current US National YoYo League members have this included in their membership, so the contest is free for them to watch!
Full details and instructions on how to set up your YoYoContest.com account are at the link below. Thank you!
For anyone wondering, when you sign up you pay the 5 wing wangs for the stream immediately. It’s what I wanted, so I didn’t have to deal with it all the day of the event.
I have no idea what yoyos to bring with me to worlds Is there any particular ones you guys would want to try to help me narrow it down? Dont really wanna bring more than 20. Heres my collection
I know people bring huge cases and tons of yo-yos, but honestly I would just bring a couple. Might just be my personal opinion, but you’ll enjoy the contest more with less belongings you have to worry about keeping an eye on.
Also - Bring the Hero, I keep seeing you talk about that and haven’t tried one yet!
Yes, that’s on my list to bring. I have about 12 or so I wanna bring, maybe I’ll just stick with that.
Wait, there’s a contest next week?
World YoYo Contest Mystery Boxes incoming!
Will you guys have yoyo gloves for sale at your booth?
Definitely!
I’m excited to see the new yo-yos that will inevitably be announced at or after Worlds.
Preppin’ for Cleveland!
Made a new softside case from a Case Logic cassette tape case from 1987. If you don’t remember cassette tapes… then, you understand why it needed a good repurposing.
I’ve been obsessing over what to take with me even though I know I’ll be bringing new ones home.
So far it’s…
Sasquatch, Blackbird, SK, Weekender, & Legend Wing
Debating on leaving an empty spot, but why??
Possible candidates…
Summit, Ducc, Benchmark H.
Any thoughts, insights or advice??
I’ve only attended one other yoyo event.
Super stoked.
The less stuff you have to worry about the better. Unless you have something super rare or unique you’re dying to have people try or admire you’re better off not having a lot to worry about so you can focus on the people and the goings on.
Haven’t been to worlds but I’ve been to NER and MA states plenty of times as well as the IYYC.
