i like that there! I’ve only thrown one wood fixie and its just a duncan tournament i sanded but the wood certainly has a unique feel. its that feel as well as the feel of the string against starburst in plastics that make me want to push past being the worst fixie player in history to get the hang of it

i had a breakthrough last night! I’ve been playing modern responsive over fa because frankly i sucked and it was frustrating. but i was so drawn to the nostalgia of butterflies and intrigued by the play feel, i wanted to like them so badly, when i got the target ones i decided to hard commit to learning fixie. last night i spent a couple of hours dedicated to snap starts and engineer starts because restarts were my first biggest hurdle. i got them both down well enough that i kinda took off from there. i threw til 2 am and fell in love with how the fixie and specifically how the butterflies feel to play!
this morning i hit my first few trapeze stall to brother stalls! feels super fun to hit and I’m really close to starting to hit some kickflips 
also, I told my daughter today’s mission is to gather all the holiday target butterfly colors we can find
