What changes were made?
The dimensions are all a fraction smaller to make the weight lower. Kyle prefers the KNack around the 46-48g mark.
I have also fitted them with hand turned axles instead of cut stock dowel. This makes them feel smoother on the spin.
As with all of my yoyos now, it is also glued with epoxy instead of wood glue like the original run.
The changes are not major, but there are enough to consider it a version 2, not really a new model.
Onward and upward!
Just finished up this ebony Cavemen Go. It’s smaller in diameter, just over 51mm. Weighs in at 58.8 grams.
I like the variation with the ring carved out. Looks cool😎
Your yoyos are looking great @vegabomb. That wood is beautiful too.
Thanks Glen. High praise coming from you.
You definitely have your own style going on there, I like the contours of the faces of the yoyos you make.
Nice job on the hand-turned axles too, it’s a nice touch and can be tricky to make.
Beautiful piece Glen! And happy birthday mate!
Happy birthday mate! I bought this yoyo to celebrate one year at the start of my new career, as well as for my birthday on the 18th. The yoyo looks like a real beauty.
Happy Birthday Glen!
Have a wonderful year.
I love the Button!
Does purple heart usually darken up a lot. The first picture is after a month of being made. It went from almost a gray to a dark purple.
The more light it is exposed to the deeper and darker it will get.
Had an old piece pf blacknean I’ve been meaning to turn for ages, and I made 4 of these today (one is still curing). Nothing particularly interesting, its just a basic butterfly shape. Took about an hour.
That engraving is beautiful!!!
How do you engrave your yoyos?
I use a cheap DIY Laser engraver.
The ones I just posted arent for sale, but is anyone interested in something like this for $50 shipped to the US? It’s a classic butterfly shaped fixie with the full Spinworthy logo. Around 50-55g. They play superbly by the way.
If so, I’ll make a few today.
- I’m interested and would like to buy
- Not interested or wouldn’t buy
