I was afraid the colloquialism may be lost given how you spell ‘color’.

Yea it’s “jammious” down under…

Nah it was obvious, I should have understood straight away. I thought you were talking about some yoyo term I’d never heard of. :rofl:

I wouldn’t put it past me to just make it up in my head then assume everyone else knows what I’m talking about. But yes those look to be Sleepworthy jammies.

I made this. Very happy. Only weighs 46 grams but I’ve done shoot the moon, stalls, flyaway dismount. All worked.

Made of cherry with a maple axle. I only press fit the axle and it sits a bit proud of the faces of the yoyo. I’m going to disassemble it and take just a hair off the axle length and glue it in place.

@vegabomb Nice work.

I used the same woods for my first attempt at turning a yoyo this morning. It’s not pretty. It sleeps ok and responds well, but I’d like to get it to play a little smoother. I also want to work on the overall design.

I went to make one the other day only to find that my sd card was full. I’ll need to buy another.

What was your basic method? What was the looooong way you took?

@Glenacius_K Thank you! All your work is beautiful.

If you don’t mind, could you please tell me what kind of jig you are using here?

Thanks!

That’s a wooden chuck I made that I screwed a to the faceplate and turned. You just need double sided tape ring if the yoyo halves on it to turn them.

I see. Thanks

I rough cut the two pieces, drilled a 1/4” hole in the center of them and put them on a pen mandrel. I used Cole jaws to do the finishing on the faces. I’m curious about your double sided carpet tape method. Do you just “eyeball” centering the half on the jig? I feel like if I were to do that and were just a smidgen off the yoyo wouldn’t turn properly.
