Haven’t touched a 1st but I can definitely agree 3rd run is different feel and play compared to 2nd runs. I was blessed to get a KK 3rd run in box and am still counting my lucky stars I was able to acquire this grail. I’d say collecting different runs of throws wouldn’t hurt because they difference in play it’s like having a same model car but sport edition lol.

Count me as another vote for 3rd run Peaks playing the best. I’ve only thrown one 1st run peak (the “Trevlor” Peak) and honestly I was surprised at how much I didn’t like it
At one point I had a Wintergreen Peak and that was an improvement but still lacking. I currently own a 3rd 2nd run Wolf Lake Peak (has since been painted…by me 
)
and a 3rd run purple acid wash Peak
The acid wash Peak is by far the best Peak I’ve played. And that’s including the Peak 2 and Ti Peak.

My personal preference of the OG Peak runs is not the 3rd, as many people have expressed.
I prefer the shape and play of the 2nd run Peak. I think the 2nd run got a bad name because it seems many of them had a lot of vibe and the design of the Peak feels very heavy when it’s vibing.
But a smooth 2nd run feels floaty and is one of my favourite yoyos.

The hardest part is there were many subtle differences over the manufacturing of the 2nd runs do even over that run there are better and worse ones.
Funny enough I think the hulk smash and sebby were among the worst but they’ve gained a lot of popularity these days because of them being signature editions.
If yoyonation still was here you would find nightmare stories about the hulk smash.

It was mostly that the hulk smash peak had such a rough blast that it would cut through strings none stop. Everyone was taking jeans to the inner hub to wear it down.
Going off memory I want to say it was one of the more available releases so once people got a hold of a peak finally with all the hype they were all a bit disappointed with their peak having an issue they paid a premium price for. Peak vibe started becoming a more common term I’d say around that time.
You’d get people arguing that it should be dead smooth and others saying it was floaty and that was just part of the feel.
There’s a lot of differences within the second run of paid and there’s definitely some that are better than others but a lot of that information can be difficult to find.
Most know the bearingul being one of the top 2nd run peaks but most don’t know what we’re the least favorite. 2nd run did have some fantastic colorways though

Made up a few more cases recently so I had the whole bunch out on the coffee table. Took advantage and snapped a few pics. I am just about at the point of at least one of every model. Once I get there I will start looking for some rare runs.

Makes me happy to see the Avalanche and team edition Sasquatch that were previously in my collection, get the love they deserve! Awesome collection!
Two of my favorite players? The newer stuff is great and some of the very early throws were groundbreaking but the og Sasquatch, avalanch, puffin 1, gnarwhal 1 really anything from that time period. Those are some of my go to throws when I want to play.
